August 18, 20205 yr Hi all, So in P3D I had my Honeycomb Alpha and Saitek throttle rigged up by having both the Alpha and the Saitek Yoke connected (because the Saitek throttle is connected to the yoke, no separate PC connection for the throttle, it has to plug into the Saitek yoke). So you plug both yokes in, disable the control and axis commands for the Saitek yoke but leave the throttle, prop and mixture controls for the Saitek throttle, then assign all the yoke functions to the Alpha. So in the end you're running the Alpha yoke and the Saitek throttle. A bit odd but it works in P3D. I'm wondering if it's possible to get the same setup working in MSFS2020. I haven't really messed with it much yet, but I just flew my first flight, the Alpha worked fine, the Saitek throttle, no joy. Anyone try this and get it working? If not, any suggestions? Thanks!
August 21, 20205 yr I have this setup with one variation and it works fine. I had an old Saitek yoke so I took the control board out cutting off all wires to the yoke pots and switches. I placed the control board into a box and wired on a short USB plug (messy but it works). Now I just plug the throttle into the board so I'm not tripping over a yoke. MSFS2020 recognizes both the yoke and throttle controls but everything on the Alpha control and throttle work just fine. The next time I fly I'll remove disable/remove the Saitek yoke controls and key mapping just to prevent any issues.
August 21, 20205 yr I am doing exactly this in MSFS 2020. It's working very well. Just remember to go into your controller set up and turn off the Saitek Yoke axes. I considered doing what @OldSaltyPossum did by removing the control board from the yoke but I figure that once the Honeycomb throttle is released, I can try to sell the fully intact Saitek Yoke and Throttle combo to recoup some of my costs.
