How to Fix Alpha Yoke Heading Bug

Recommended Posts

When you say bug heading changes are misbehaving... exactly what controls are you using?...

- Clicking the heading knob with the mouse (left click)

- Using the mouse wheel while hovering over the knob

- Key binding

- All of the above

Assign you Honeycomb Alpha Yoke 2-position and magneto switches via FSUIPC instead of the sim controls menu. This will fix 10 degree heading bug issue. Serach for my other post on this forum how to assign magneto switch, I requires special handling on FSUIPC, as magneto switch registers as button numbers above 32 in Windows.

Very weird, i have the Honeycomb yoke and was suffering the 10 degree heading issue, all I did was unbind the off position on the magneto switch.

I don't use the magneto switch when flying and just leave it in the off position, but all of the other switches (battery / avionics / lights) i use, and I have no issue with the heading bug.

I can click it for 1 degree increments and scroll wheel for 10 degree increments.

The scroll wheel should be able to do 1 degree increments.  If you try it before using any of the switches on the base on a fresh flight, you should see that behavior.  Coming from a different controller I'm definitely used to being able to do that.

I also restored the functionality of 1-degree resolution on heading and 100ft altitude adjustments by simply unbindling the magneto switch on the Alpha.

All my other Alpha yoke buttons are still assigned.

I unbound all of the magneto/key switch positions.  No heading bug issue UNTIL I turn a light on.  Landing lights on for example?  Heading bug issue when scrolling to tune.  Normally scrolling goes in 1 degree increments.  Turn them back off, fixed.

Interesting, I'll have to see if I have the same problem.  What a mess.

I wonder guys, why are you still struggling with the buggy in-sim controls assignment, when there is a simple solution with FSUIPC available (see a couple of posts above).
