August 19, 20205 yr Reinstalled FS2020 just to see if it was some kind of glitch in the setup/download. Nope, flying the 747 or A320 is nearly impossible. I am used to Xplane and Zibo 737. If the Zibo is not extremely inaccurate and supereasy to operate, then I will have to assume that the airliner failure in FS2020 is complete. And don't get me started on the autopilot. What is going on???
August 19, 20205 yr As an alpha tester from the beginning, I would love to be able to tell you what happened with the autopilots. During alphas 1-4, all the autopilots worked fairly well. When the A320 and 747 were introduced, their autopilots were at least functional. You could plan a flight and enjoy the experience. Beginning with Alpha 5, however, all the autopilots (on all the aircraft) became dysfunctional. My understanding is that Asobo was using the same autopilot code for all these diverse aircraft, and this didn't work out as they'd planned. The A320 and 747 were absolutely unusable. They are better now in the commercial release. But, generally speaking, the autopilots were better six months ago than they are today, especially in the GA aircraft. I realize this makes no sense at all. It makes no sense to me either. August 19, 20205 yr I agree, the autopilot on the A320 is at least broken. V/S basically lives its own life. Flight dynamics are horrible, tweaking sensitivity only helps a bit... Brynjar Mauseth
August 19, 20205 yr Author Thanks, then I am not alone (not that I thought I was after reading all the other threads here). Getting the trim to work is a headscratcher as well. Assigned elevator trim to my Saitek, works like a charm in Xplane. In FS? *gentle trim* nothing *gentle trim* nothing *gentle trim* nothing *trim* DIVE and crashcourse!!! About AP: What's so weird though that even without AP, the aircraft is weird. Yesterday after some small rudder trim the 747 suddenly decided to bank heavily to the right (!!) and then just drop like a stone! Instinctively I should have corrected such an incident but I just let it crash in the ocean as a sign of what I think of this. offensive initials not allowed...
August 19, 20205 yr it's you, I flew tha a320 out and in San Fran and everything worked, many inop. buttons and simplified at the bone but that's it. R5 3600 - GTX 1070OC - 32GB 3200 - NVME - 3440x1440 160Hz - VR(Quest 2) GarbagePoster™
August 19, 20205 yr Autopilot in the A320 Neo seems to work for me. It's not very good at capturing the ILS, granted, but it's perfectly possible to fly with it. The mouse hotspots take a lot of getting used to, though, especially coming from P3D. Very simplified but that's what you expect from a default aircraft aimed at beginners and people who aren't hardcore flight sim fans. i7-10700K; RTX 2070 Super; 16GB; P3Dv4.5HF3 & MSFS2020.
