August 19, 20205 yr Currently in Egypt flying down the Nile, and thought I would send you all a little positive note in the heat that is emminating from these forums 🙂 I planned this trip a couple of weeks ago in anticipation of the release. I have been flying mostly GA, and I started out in southern Norway, flying via Oslo down the Swedish coast to Copenhagen. Then onwards through Germany, into Switzerland where I had a great time flying into Innsbruck. There were a lot of people there, and it was glorious 😄 Leaving Innsbruck for Bolzano and through the mountain vallys further into Italy. A memorable moment was flying through Rome, seeing both the Vatican and the Colosseum. Went along the Italian west coast down to Naples and saw Vesuvio and Pompei. Mind blown! Increadibly beautiful. Headed down to Sicily and over to Malta before taking an a320 down to Libya. As I said, I am currently in Egypt, and I got goosebumps coming in over Cairo in my TBM. From afar I could see the Pyramids of Giza on the horizon, and the nav lights of numerous pilots overflying them. I landed there and took screenshots from the same position I did last year when I was there in real life ❤️ Currently flying in the DA40, and having a jolly good time. It's a little more wobbly/sensitive to wind than the cessnas, but I very much like the open view from the cockpit. https://imgur.com/Wnfy8Io Edited August 19, 20205 yr by Andreas Stangenes Andreas Stangenes http://www.youtube.com/user/krsans78 Add me on gamertag: Bullhorns78
August 21, 20205 yr Author Some pictures from my journey through Africa. I didn't figure out how to take a screenshot before I came to Egypt. Need to revist Rome and Naples 😄 Visiting the great pyramids in Giza again was a real treat. Me and my husband were there last year, and we took a picture together at this exact spot. ❤️ Flying along the Nile towards Aswan hearing "that" song in my head all the while (you belong to me). Some random city along the Nile. Kinda thought it looked cool 🙂 This was very interesting flying. I was on my way to see giraffes on the border between Somalia and Sudan, and I had to overfly this great mountain covered in storm clouds. There truly were mountains in them clouds, and I had to take this puppy all the way up to fl120 just to scrape along the top of the mountain. My husband loves giraffes, its one of his favorite animals (his top favorite one is the tapir of all things). I had no idea that giraffes would live in such a rugged, barren country. Far away from the savanna I thought they lived. Someone said that if you get close to them they will stop what they are doing and come to you. These, however, didn't seem very interested in me at all. This guy did get the memo, and we bonded. I called him Bill. Bill waved his trunk and sent me off my way because he was busy receiving more guests. There were surprisingly many pilots wanting to see him and his herd here in the middle of Africa. I managed to have a little crash getting back up, but dont tell anyone 😉 Thought these crops looked spectacular from the air. This is in Tanzania I think. And then finally, after 3,5 days of continuous flying, I made it to Capetown and the Cape of Good hope just as the sun set. And to end it all: a drone pic from the Cape of Good Hope. A fitting end to my journey. I have big hopes for the future of this sim, and I am enjoying the heck out of it. By the looks of all the pilots Ive seen travelling from Norway to the Cape, a whole lotta people are having a good time 🙂 Edited August 21, 20205 yr by Andreas Stangenes Andreas Stangenes http://www.youtube.com/user/krsans78 Add me on gamertag: Bullhorns78
August 21, 20205 yr Author Just one more... Tested out the autofocus mode on the dronecam: I notice that the pictures dont look as crisp on my 1920x1080 monitor as they do on my ultra widescreen. Pardon that. Edited August 21, 20205 yr by Andreas Stangenes Andreas Stangenes http://www.youtube.com/user/krsans78 Add me on gamertag: Bullhorns78

I flew the C208 all through Tanzania and Kenya to airports and dirt strips I've been in real life. I never found any animals in the Serengeti ... so, where were they? I want to find them! 😉 5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT
August 21, 20205 yr Very nice! I'm doing the opposite, Cape Town to Norway - started yesterday. I'm doing short hops at low altitude to make the most of the scenery and enjoying every minute. Currently still in South Africa, but should cross the Botswana border sometime tonight.
