From shots I have seen elsewhere it appears to be possible to access a 'Live' time slider without having to go right back to the screen where flights are set up.

Anyone know how this is done?

Set players to all or off, if that fails set time weather to preset or custom.

It's in the weather section in the overhead options.

Yes....drag your mouse cursor to top of screen while in flight and a bunch of icons popup.....the cloud icon is what you want if I recall.
