August 20, 20205 yr I guess this is my third day with the new sim and theres still a lot to learn and a lot to find but its coming along nicely. I'm amazed that this is all default. Is it just me or is it actually crisper at lower altitudes? | Dave | I've been around for most of my life. There's always a sunset happening somewhere in the world that somebody is enjoying.
August 21, 20205 yr Wow...great snaps...I haven't even gone to the Key's yet. I have 3rP for Key West in P3D and XP11...so now you have my interest peaked to go and compare that to the MSFS default. What was that island they put Dr. Mudd in prison for the Lincoln affair? I wonder if the old fort/prison is modeled, as well as the touring boat dock..will have to strike out from Key West and have a look see! Will take the Icon...so I can land and water taxi around! MSFS has proven so much fun, in the virtual 'from the air' tourist angle...and that you can go anywhere in the world...and do this. So cool!
August 21, 20205 yr Author Thanks. I can't believe how much detail there is EVERYWHERE. I flew from Key West Intl to KMTH (the short trip in these pics) and then onto 07FA and up over Miami a bit. It looks much better than anything Ive ever had from Orbx. The clouds are awesome...the lighting is awesome...the C172 is awesome imo. As to Dr Mudd, I didnt even know he had been imprisoned down in that area. Oddly enough though, I grew up not far from where John Wilkes Booth did. I rode my bike past Tudor Lane many many times. | Dave | I've been around for most of my life. There's always a sunset happening somewhere in the world that somebody is enjoying.

Oddly enough though, I grew up not far from where John Wilkes Booth did. I rode my bike past Tudor Lane many many times. They sent him to that fort/prison...and when typhoid broke out...he heroically disregarded his own health and safety to help save the lives of his fellow prisoners. For that...his life sentence was commuted to time served, he was freed, and settled back in the East. He died I think in the early 1900's...and to be honest, they were harsh with him...he only serviced Booth's wounds, as he was loyal to his oath...the same sense of duty and character that helped those typhoid sufferers.
August 21, 20205 yr Author I wish doctors today were that loyal to their hippocratic oath. but thats another discussion. | Dave | I've been around for most of my life. There's always a sunset happening somewhere in the world that somebody is enjoying.
