November 9, 200619 yr Author You mean it worked?Great, just kidding ..;) I think the last time I made a batch file was in MSDos6.2 - tweaking up Falcon on my 286/386 ...ahh the good ol days. When I get some time I'll make a little overview to go with it - and send it to the avsim file server. I'll leave it here for now in case their are any more ideas or suggestions. Thanks again Jos

November 9, 200619 yr Folks, please do not upload zip files to the forums. They will only be there 12 days and then disappear. Please upload these to the library where they will be around forever. Thank you for your cooperation.
November 9, 200619 yr Garett Maybe I better double check this to make sure. Once I bat. the files it makes a folder called new. Is this the texures I need to replace the ones that are all sandy color?
November 10, 200619 yr Author >Garett Maybe I better double check this to make sure. Once I>bat. the files it makes a folder called new. Is this the>texures I need to replace the ones that are all sandy color? Not sure if I understand what your asking?:-hmmm Yes, you copy all the generated files from the new folder to the /scenery/world/texture folder.(overwriting the originals)Its more than just a "sandy texture fix". Its designed to improve an overall look of the Rockies, but by nature of the fix - it also affects "Cool grasses", "Desert Sage" and "Desert Shrubs". Repy's 7 & 14 explain more info of what you are affecting and areas, with the original post and pics explaining the reason.Regards'Garett
November 10, 200619 yr for me in WY as well. It's not quite there( a color issue with the yellow which should be dirtier) but way better anyhow. Thanks for your work!!

November 10, 200619 yr good lord, garett, i've been watching this thread for a fortnight now, waiting precisely for this! i tell ya, i'm one lazy bum...:-lolyour effort is much appreciated
November 10, 200619 yr Garett, when I unzip your two files, a new folder is created but it is empty. an ideas?
November 10, 200619 yr Texture folder. The batch will create the "New" folder within the Texture folder.
November 10, 200619 yr Thanks, wyoming, guess I should have read the instructions more carefully. I wa trying to unzip to a newly created folder and then was going to transfer them to the world/texture folder. I appreciate the help. nuffsed
November 10, 200619 yr Author In testing different locations and seasons, I found a texture that was not being changed as intended. I had a *&$%! typo in the bat file. (well actually a couple, but the others still functioned the same) I can't believe I missed it.Regardless, I apologize and I fixed it. At the same time I reworked a couple of ones that where bugging me and added the snow/ice to it. Its now a single file.If you want the correction and visuals as intended, restore your original textures and re run the attached batch file as per the original instructions. Yes you can shortcut it by placing this in your backed up texture directory and running from there, but if you don't follow what I just said - don't do it that way.I don't want Tom shooting me for uploading here, so I have created a package and submitted to the Avsim file server. The batch file by itself is attached to this post.Sorry about the hassle,RegardsGarettEDIT: Okay, I have removed the zip file. Please check the library. Thanks.
November 11, 200619 yr I was hoping I could delete the flight i saved..."Down with the Brown!"http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/161023.jpgbut i cannot.Good work on the other textures! They picked the ugliest texture of the 4.6 gig folder and spewed it all over my planet.I will find it and burn it!!thanks again, your effort is greatly apreciated.
November 11, 200619 yr Author "EDIT: Okay, I have removed the zip file. Please check the library. Thanks."That't not what I meant to do, as I wanted to update the one that was going to be (and now is) posted on the server. I emailed the info as well.(I'm pullin out my hair as we speak)Regardless, I just submitted the new one to "upload file", with instructions to library ops to delete the other ASAP. The readme included in the new package includes information for both (those that have already downloaded the fubared one, and for new installations.)If your following this post, do not download fsxtexturemod_1a.zip, please wait until fsxtexturemod_1b.zip is posted. If you have installed already, its not a big deal. But there are additional textures that wont get converted due to a typo in the batch file. I tried to catch it before it was posted, but we didn't quite make it.RegardsGarett-EDITWow that was fast, great gob guys !! The new file is up. Thanks !
