Way Beyond Frustrated

Ok fellas, I think I found the problem.  For about the last 4-5 hours I've been trying to fly the Cessna 172.  So I decided to fly a different airplane.  Smooth as silk.  Works perfectly.  I guess there must be a bug in my Cessna 172.  Don't have any idea as to what or why.  All I know is that a differnt airplane works perfectly.  I appreciate everyone's help.  I have followed some of the recommendations you all have made, game mode, and a couple of others.  Now it seems to be running better than ever.  Your help has been much appreciate.  Thanks again guys....

Of course, since the performance of the sim while using the C172 degraded over time, you need to see if the same thing happens with your new airplane.  It might be a bug in their implementation of the C172, or it may be a bug that just shows up after you've been flying any aircraft for awhile.

I can concur using the C172 is absolutely torture for me.  I've been trying to fly from KTOC-KAHN and back, but 5 mins into flights the FPS will drop to 1, CPU goes full bore and this repeats during the entire flight.  I've tried for days to go through settings trying different things, but still the same result.  When I installed MSFS it recommended High in settings, I've backed down to Medium and still the same.  I haven't tried any other aircraft.  I will try that next and see what happens.  Thanks for the tips!!

That pretty much describes how the sim works when I tried to fly the C172.  I'm thinking there is a bug in that airplane somewhere.  Don't know.  But other airplanes are just fine.

I tried another GA plane, the Bonanza, and I had similar things happen, but not as severe. I tried another GA plane and similar things, just flying along nicely and all of a sudden frame rates drop drastically and CPU shoots to 100%.  Again, I know my hardware is dated, but I should be able to fly this sim with Medium settings.
