August 22, 20205 yr Hi guys My family plans to buy me a yoke and rudder pedals for Christmas to replace my old CH Products. They’ve asked me what model I would like and I said the Honeycomb but this is a bit out of the price range. The Logitech Saitek yoke would probably be my second choice but I wanted to hear some opinions from you guys if this is a decent yoke still? I know it’s been around for a while but I’m sure it’s still an upgrade from the CH products. There seems to be a lot of options for joysticks but I’m much more comfortable with a flight yoke MSFS 2024

I had a CH Eclipse, which worked better and was built better than the Saitek. For me, what kills the Saitek is the way the aileron actions interferes with the elevators. If you can find a Saitek Cessna yoke that's what I would choose, but I don't think they're made any more. I have the model before the eclipse so very old! It’s quite stiff now and makes the aircraft behave erratic MSFS 2024
August 22, 20205 yr It probably would be an upgrade but over time I've come to realise that Saitek products maybe ended up costing me more money in the long run or at least didn't save me compared to more expensive options. I had the X-52 first and the pots went on it after a while like always seems to happen to Saitek products so upgraded to the X-55 as didn't want to spend a good bit more on the Thrustmaster Warthog. Then the X-55 pots went. Same thing happened with my Saitek rudder pedals at which point I gave up on Saitek. Switched to the VKB Gunfighter and MFG Crosswinds which did cost more money upfront but they're much better engineered so as long as I look after them they'll last a very long time and will still be working well. So if it meant you maybe contributing to the Xmas present as well I'd consider doing that to get the Honeycomb as in the long run it's very likely to work out way better and give you a lot more enjoyment.

I think the mechanics are just the same as the cheaper yoke. MarkH https://www.youtube.com/@AlmostAviation AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D / 64Gb DDR5 / Zotac RTX 5070 Ti / 2560 x 1440 display
