October 28, 200619 yr First I want to address my current situation. I have had FSX in my possession for almost a month and It was only on my newly built rig OCed now to 3Ghz for about 2 weeks before I removed it.I tried tweaks and the such, but given the money I spent on FS9 I took a good look today flying from FS KPDX to FT KSEA in the F1ATR using GE,USA ROADS,FE,ASV 6.5,AND RC4.0 and I never went below 26FPS with 7 levels of 32 bit clouds. Not a single stutter and smooth as silk and the ground textures were great. So my question is, havent you FSX die hards notice that 3rd party addons are ever so slow to market for this new sim. This is the first time in FS history that the previous version (FS9) had so much 3rd party addons that I cant beleive that not one single popular addon has not made it to us as either a new purchase or an update. I am betting my bottom dollar that either the developers are seething at this buggy premature release and are having great diffuculties recoding from FS9 or it will not be cost effective at all to develop anything.I am so very disappointed in this release ...They used FS9 as their foundation without developing this from scratch and what they stirred up is a mess .They would of been better off selling us a nice update to the current FS9 platform. This SIM seems PROHIBITIVE in all aspects from developers right down to us the end users. If VISTA was ever released in the current FSX state MS would have a multitude of lawsuits on their hands.Imagine a bank using using "FSX as a OS" as their platform, I would run to the atm because it would be given out free cash ....Andy
October 28, 200619 yr That may or may not have something to do with the fact that Major$haft is now insisting on them paying FEES for certification (whatever the heck that may mean) Not sure????? - you work it out
October 28, 200619 yr Author Or maybe it's because FSX was only released 11 days, just a thought.Jeff Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
October 30, 200619 yr I'm not gonna slam you or anything....and some of what you say is quite valid.Flight One updated their C172 to FSX recently, and Eaglesoft has released ver 1.5 of their Beech/Hawker. FSD has a few things along with Wings of Power (Shockwave productions), Australian simulations released their Glassair III, that's actually a lot since FSX was released ,IMHO... And yes, while developers have had the SDK for a while, take a look at the things that were changed, and then understand that the developers have A LOT of work to do, whether it's updating aicraft or making new ones.Texture format has changed, alpha stuff is different, VC's/views are different, sound is now 5.1, and I'm not even a developer. I mean, I made two sceneries in Gmax for FS2002 - that's all. There's a TON of new graphical stuff that has changed from FS9. Not to mention some of the bugs that MS AND the community is working out right now. I say, give it a month or two and we'll see the flow start up again. edit: oh, and I have my FS9 tweaked with addons galore like yourself, I agree it is pretty dang sweet. The other night I flew one flight in FSX and in FS9 and although it may have looked a little better, it just didn't have that "new car" feeling to it. I then switched back to FSX and kept doing what I was doing. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

October 30, 200619 yr >Thanks for not slamming me !!! I was not looking to bait>anyone in this post.>Well I'm glad you weren't looking to bait anyone in your post. :)I don't really like posts like that because they label the FS camp into "FSX die-hards" (as you call it) vs. FS9 people. :) That's dividing, not uniting. Everyone here likes FS, who cares what the version is. :)RhettAMD 3700+ (@2.5 ghz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (94.47), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
