Odd texturing issue

Featured Replies

See attached image. I am getting this weird shimmering grainy artifact in most planes right now during daylight. I've played with a lot of the graphics settings and it feels like it wasn't doing this the first couple of days, but maybe I just missed it. Any ideas? Thanks all.

I noticed that, too, but haven't looked into it much yet, but it seems like a shadowing texture file, or the way it's being rendered, is at the core of the issue.  I tried changing texture resolution settings in the sim but it didn't seem to have any effect.

Saw it too...swear it wasn't there before (around release).  Have been fiddling with settings...thought it was me.  Happened more-so at dawn.

Not seeing it now but not flying in similar conditions where it occurred for me.  I think they are changing something in the Matrix.....I did happen to see a black cat walk by....then a few moments later...the same black cat! 😨

Quick....Cypher...check the hard lines! Hehe.

Thank you for the replies, and I am glad it's not just me. I agree with you Steve it feels like they're messing about with the Matrix!

Yep I've seen this, also with clouds - if you fly the 747 JFK landing challenge which is at sunset and look at the clouds after you've landed you will see the slightly weird grainy effect.

Are you referring to what looks like a graphical artifact where the prop would be spinning?

If so I’m seeing this as well but thought it was to simulate the spinning prop and haven’t flown any jets yet to see if it shows as well...

Kilo my picture wasn't clear. It's the effect above the PFD/MFD. In the sim it's look like a very exaggerated vinyl texture, except it shimmers and it's in places I wouldn't expect a vinyl texture. It appears to be on surfaces where light is being reflected on to.
