August 25, 20205 yr Hi, I've been using the IXEG 737-300 lately in Xplane and have come across problems getting the vF/O to understand me when I say certain things. Almost every time I ask for a speed (by saying 'speed 152' or 'set speed 175') every time he says (paraphrasing) 'ok speed 175 I didnt catch that confirm speed' I then have to try and confirm a few times before he gets it. I have tried those phrases in other recognition software and am understood every time, so I don't think it's the way I am saying it. I also have occasional issues with various flaps requests (especially 'flaps 40') Is there anything I can do to improve it? James W

No, it's unlikely to be an issue with accent or how you speak the command, as you can say it in a multitude of ways and this specific command applies to all planes set speed one seven five make speed one seventy five one seventy five on the airspeed bug set the speed to one seventy five knots etc... ...at least 50 other variations He may have accidentally picked up "set speed seventy five", in which case, when he only prompts for confirmation, just say "one seven five" or "one seventy five" and he should dial it. Otherwise, could be to do with the safety mechanism in place. With a jet aircraft, whenever you request a speed lower than 210 knots, unless Fo sees you've already extended a few flaps notches, he'll assume there is something wrong with speed request and will ask you to reconsider. A real world pilot will proceed this way on 737 flaps one set speed one nine zero ...later set flaps five ...later set speed one seventy (or one seventy five if you wish. Not exactly 170) etc.... make sure you update to latest MCE version Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com

Aha - that must be my issue here, OK will consider that as I fly next! James W
August 27, 20205 yr Author @FS++ Just another quick question, or possible bug report.... During the preflight checklist - the F/O asks 'Pressurization mode selector' - the correct response being 'Auto' - and even though the switch is in the correct position, and I've said auto a thousand different ways, he always pesters me during the checklist for the correct response. Is there something I should do, or could this be a wee gremlin? Finally, during the landing checklist - the response to 'Flaps' should be "[flap setting] green light" so example "15 green light" - I've tried setting the checklist to listen for 'Green light' etc.. but it doesn't seem to get it, is there some way I can say a number, followed by the words 'green light' and not confuse him? Thanks again, James Edited August 27, 20205 yr by severniae James W
August 28, 20205 yr Hi, a quick way to respond if FO is having trouble with your replies is reply "checked" or "check". FO will accept that and continue. You could also select "no state check" but that's not professional! Cheers. David

It should stop Fo arguing too much when for some reason he doesn't see the setting as you are referring to it. Anyway, have a feeling it may need to be looked at, as we haven't updated our IXEG copy for years and who knows what may have changed airplane wise. It's just a pity this comes at a time when all attention is on getting MCE Ultimate for Pepar3D/FSX to also work with MSFS 2020. Therefore, please be patient. It will eventually be looked at and sorted. First, need to know whether selecting option above does it. Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com
