August 27, 20205 yr I am having a hard time with the GNS 530 in the Cessna 172. I am used to operating that same GPS system in X-Plane 11, but on MSFS I am having no luck. These are the issues I've observed: The ENTER key doesn't seem to work for me. For example, I pick an approach and click on PROC to activate it, but when I choose Activate Approach and hit ENTER nothing happens. Same issue with other operations that require ENTER. In X-Plane 11 (and I am assuming in the real navigation systems), every time you complete a leg of the flight plan, it automatically moves to the next leg. For example, if you are taking off from Airport A to Airport B and passing through Fix A, upon take off the Airport A -> Fix A leg will be active (purple line). When you get to Fix A, it automatically switches to Fix A -> Airport B. This does not happen on MSFS. Additionally, the DIRECT TO key doesn't seem to work either, so I can't even go from leg to leg manually. I normally like to keep the GNS 530 on the first page of the navigation screen, which has your plane always pointing up and the headings across an arc at the top of the screen. I cannot get to this screen on MSFS. Is this user error on my part or is MSFS indeed missing all these functions? Thanks!
September 18, 20205 yr I agree. It is not as intuitive as it is in XP-11, but never having used it in real life, I can't say what is right. Seems that Garmin should be Garmin regardless.... John Wingold
September 18, 20205 yr Map is stuck in north up too, you can't set it up so it shows heading up. Hopefully it will get better soon, as it is now it is missing quite a few features. ROG MAXIMUS X HERO, Intel Core i7 8700K, 32 GB's 3200 RAM, Gigabyte RTX3080,

Maybe we will get a fix or work around? Edited September 20, 20205 yr by DJJose MSFS
