Fast Start up Setup?

Featured Replies

In the Tips and Tricks Forum there is a post which states you can bypass the startup videos by:

"You simply need to create a new desktop shortcut containing the following command - it will launch the program without any of the videos:

cmd.exe /C start shell:AppsFolder\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App -FastLaunch"

However, at least on my system, I am not permitted to adjust the shortcut for MSFS2020.  (Other programs yes, just not MSFS) What am I missing?

Thanks,

Hi,

Right click on the desktop, chose  new then shortcut

place in box

cmd.exe /C start shell:AppsFolder\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App "-FastLaunch"

click next.

You can also set this function to active in Steam by right clicking the MSFS icon that you click to start the sim and typing -FastLaunch in the Properties > General text box.

It does not save much time but you skip out the logo's and go to the Press any key to start page.
