Landing Piper cub

Featured Replies

Does anybody manage to land the piper cub under the realism =hard setting? The plane always pulls strong to the left. Or do I need rudder pedals to manage the landing? Thanks

Hi,Happens to me also... no ideea why...

I dont have any problem landing it other than bouncing a bit on the landing, but then again that happens with all tail draggers since im used to tricycles. Maybe you are carrying too much speed?

. . it's 'cos you have an AMD processor. . .:-)

Does anybody manage to land the piper cub under the realism =hard setting? No problem - but I do have a yoke and pedals. But as the link to the real world site says - the bird has to be STRAIGHT with the runway when you touch down. And get real SLOOOOOOOWThe Goose is going to cause a lot of people similar issues on land.Though I think flying the Vimy, the Jenny, the Tri-motor and the NYP in FS2004 quite a bit helped me a lot when it comes to flying the Cub in FSX.

Yeah, still wating two or three months untill vista comes out,,, somehow I always land up on the head,,,!! I'll try again, maybe the Saitek x45 is just not the ideal joystick to control the rudder..

But much prefer the pedals over the rocker switches or twist grips. Using Saiteks new rudder pedals now.And BTW, the Cub does land fine, and even with an AMD processor as someome pointed as a potential problem :)L.Adamson

What the advantage of the x52 over the x45? I imagined with pedals it;s easier!!

You have to use differential braking.

>What the advantage of the x52 over the x45? I imagined with>pedals it;s easier!!>No big advantages. IMO, the X45 had an over-stiff centering spring. I cut a few loops off. Others have compressed a few loops with wire ties that works well. The X52's spring feels right to start with. Other than that, my X45 was just old, but is still used on another CPU.

Hi Kurt.Has I am still in the novice class my settings are on hard but then I check the auto rudder and I land like a pro.RegardRex
