Suddenly alot of CTD????

Recommended Posts

The sim for me have been running very smoothly since launch, no CTD experience what so ever. But today i launch the sim and it is crashing to desktop almost everytime im trying to load in somewhere near big airports or autogen crowded areas. It just crashes without any error msg. Anyone else experience this?

I had that this afternoon. I had just installed Ivao, and thought it was the culprit since I haven't really had a crash untill today (but today it crashed everytime I went to external view). I am in the proceess of reinstalling the sim now.

Can anyone try to spawn on charles de guile or southampton? it crashes when im spawning here.

If you mean LFPG then it works for me. Spawned there a few minutes ago. Now trying Southampton, it feels like the loading screens take more and time, maybe they need to increase the number of Azure servers to host the game.

Eeh, probably forgot to select departure but I spawned without problems above Southampton just now.

[edit] ah, now I see its not an airport. Learned something today 😁

There are lot of different situations that MSFS crashes to desktop.

There's no single cause or remedy.

No error is displayed.
No useful, comprehensive, generated error log.
Just bloody silent CTD.

Unfortunately, not new thing!

Some behavior are well known:

The longer the flight,
The lower the altitude,
The higher the scenery detail (e.g. photogrammetry),
The less virtual memory you have in Windows,
The less VRAM on graphic card,

the more CTD you will get on MSFS, until proven otherwise.

Solution?

Official software patches from MS.
