September 3, 20205 yr Moderator Maybe I missed something or I am just tired but after the update, my sim still shows 1.7.12.1. Ran MSFS - said needed jupdate and sent me toMS Store - update downloaded, about 620mb and said installed. Reran MSFS2020 and under my account name it still shows 1.7.12.1 - is there any other way of verifying if the update took? September 3, 20205 yr Should be 1.7.14.0 I thought the update was more like 333MB. I have the Steam version...after Steam updated, I launched the sim and just after the "Press Any Key" screen it said "Checking for updates" and then it found the remainder of the update and asked for the path. I clicked "Update" there, and it completed before entering the program. September 3, 20205 yr Author Moderator Yes, I had read 333mb also. I'll try again tomorrow. Something updated but it wasn't what I expected. Gotta love computers! 🙂 Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
September 3, 20205 yr You can also try running the verify game files in Steam that seemed to have forced the update for some users.
September 3, 20205 yr Author Moderator I'm not on steam. Tried again this morning. Sim does not suggest update. Went into MS store, title says modified 8/13 - no option to download and/or upgrade. Restart sim look in my account and next to my name is says 1.7.12.1. I was not aware that version displays in top left when loading and on title in windowed mode so I have not looked there JIC the version with my username is not updated. WIll check when I get home later. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
September 3, 20205 yr What happens if you go to Add/Remove Programs, and for MSFS select (I think) Advanced Options -> Repair?

September 4, 20205 yr Author Moderator ok, took a bit but got it squared away. Tried the repair install - no joy - update would not take version stayed atn 1.7.12 Then tried the reset option which required the 95.1G download and install - no joy again. Finally did a complete uninstall and reinstall - 95.1G download and install again. But this time it downloaded version 1..7.14. Best part - all of my controller settings were restored. That's a BIG plus. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
September 4, 20205 yr Sorry it came down to having to reinstall 100gb of game data 😞 glad it worked though!
September 4, 20205 yr Author Moderator Fortunately I have a fast connection - took just about 1 hour to do the complete reinstall. I don't know what someone with slow internet will do if they have to do it. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
