Little dots

What are these little dots under our user name? I'm guessing it's some sort of "rank", but what is it based on - number of posts, years of membership, number of likes received, something else?

Also, does an increase in "rank" give an increase in privileges? I notice some posts get "up-voted", but I don't have that option myself. I'm guessing this is a privilege that's unlocked later on. I'm not complaining, just curious.

Not sure about any increase in privileges.. 

If you hover over the heart, then the upvote arrow should pop up to the left of it...

The dots under your name has to do with the number of posts you have. There are no special rank items earned either.  You have all the privileges now that you will have .
