FSX do not load saved flights twice

Featured Replies

I have a problem resuming a saved flight. Sometimes it's required to load a saved flight twice for normal operation of the aircraft or when using Pro ATC-X.

What I do:
Load FSX free flight screen, choose Trike Ultralight, hit "Load" button, choose a saved flight, hit "Fly now". First step perfect. But the second time freezes FSX, it not responding anymore.

Any suggestions? Where to investigate?

Could you be running out of VAS - straight to an Out Of Memory crash without warning? Are you flying a complex aircraft?

I've never encountered this myself - I don't have ProATC and all my saved flights have loaded up first time. I have not had the need to load that flight a second time, sorry.

Good luck! 🍻

There is no crashes at all. Simulator just freezes and do not respond any more. Task manager says that memory usage is far less than usual during the flight.
Yes, I do fly complex aircraft. For example, Aerosoft Airbus for the first time loads without inserted flight plan.

I'd call that a crash - just not a crash which locks up your PC, just the application. I'm hoping other AVSIM members might jump into this thread with more advice and questions..

A quirk I've noticed, maybe will help.
In the free flight screen, wait for the aircraft to to be fully textured and start spinning before doing anything else.
There seem to be some background things going on and this visual representation "seems to signal" when it's all done.
I get occasional crashes if I do not do this.

Sadly, but this is not the solution. I always do this. But thank you.
