nose shaking left/right

Featured Replies

Morning, evening, whereever you are,

I believe it happens since the latest patch, at least I haven't noticed it before.. In the VL-3 the nose shakes left and right which changes in speed (the shaking speed) when the RPM is reduced from quick vibrations to a very slow and weird yaw movement. I haven't checked the other props yet but I suppose this has to do with the newly implemented "engine shake at low rpm" or so effect? Does anyone know, how to turn this off?? The VL-3 definitely does not behave like that, it flies smooth as peeeep

Cheers

It happens to the Savage Cub too, you can see the problem from the tail, external view, and from min to max rpm.

pity... I'll file a Zendesk ticket

They've added a shake effect from the engine running (and apparently from raindrops hitting the plane, too). I find it to be a little overblown. Sitting on the ramp in the Icon at idle and the plane is shaking, but at a weird rhythm. It looks more like someone's standing outside pushing the nose back and forth than like an engine is vibrating the airframe.

I'm not sure if it's the same effect but could certainly be. The nose is yawing left and right and when I reduce rpm it becomes slower, like there were two people outside pulling the nose to the left and then to the right. I'll try the Cessnas now but the VL-3 is more or less ruined. it's super annoying.

Agree. Some of the "effects" are noble in intent, but it seems to be a habit that many developers (not just Asobo) grossly exaggerate effects in an attempt to communicate "wow look what we did!". It is a failure in subtlety and taste. Sim pilots are intelligent enough to understand SUBTLE effects. They don't need to be bludgeoned over the head with them. At the very least provide a slider so you can adjust them to taste.

This sim is festooned with overdone effects.

It's not even just overdone, it's just a totally wrong effect... it doesn't shake the plane, it yaws it...The plane is turning left and right along the vertical axis.

The modded C152 does not do that. I'll compare the flight_model.cfg of the modded version with the original file and maybe I find something.

The default C152 and the XCub are right in my opinion.

hm okay, that makes it harder.. let's see if someone with more understanding of the FS cfg files finds a solution

It’s things like this that are really bittersweet for me.

i personally have a ton of grace for adobo only because this is their first sim. With that said, they are trying at more immersion but the application is not quite there. Their heart is in the right place at least.

i hope they continue learning.

Well I agree again, but was being somewhat over-polite. I hate all of the effects. Yes, they are not even vaguely convincing and look fake.

I absolutely appreciate Asobo's effort on that sim. But I think we need to be blunt when something just isn't good or acceptable. Their first language is french, mine is german and yours is probably english and when we start to hide our words in phrases we'll just talk at cross purposes. And I think there is a big difference between being blunt and outright and being negative or accusive. 😃

Yes. But some here are very sensitive and take offense at the slightest criticism of Asobo. I never quite understand why people choose to take offense on someone else's behalf.
