Co-Pilot Question

Featured Replies

Gidday,

I switched over from William to Lorna as co-pilot. Lorna doesn't respond to being addressed as Lorna but does respond to William. She actions all commands when asked but just find it strange that she doesn't respond to her name. No big deal but curious as to why that would happen.

Lorna obviously identifies as William, it must be a sexual identity thing. See if she insists on flying a rainbow flag out of the cockpit window when you taxy in, or perhaps claims that you are oppressing her when you call her Lorna. 🤣

Not sure what she thinks when I call her. She doesn't answer. So I'm looking for a digital solution.

Probably to do with English speech engine expecting "a" at the end of words to sound like "ay" (English phoneme). Tested by calling "Lornay" and she responded promptly.

An Italian speech engine would expect "a" at the end to sound like "ah"

We'll ty to do something about it by adding a fictive "Lornah" in the speech grammar.

Thanks for bringing this up.

That's fine Gerald, no big deal. Still not sure why she would respond to William when he's no longer in the picture so to speak. Just found it odd.

I see what you mean.

The command was meant to get FO's attention (any Fo name will do). Now that you bought it up, we'll make sure Fo reminds you his/her name when you call with wrong one.

Lorna also has the nickname "Lottie" which she actually states in her introduction. Maybe Lottie is easier for speech engine?😉
