Bitdefender Firewall Issue After Latest Update

Featured Replies

After the latest Sim update my Bitdefender Firewall keeps sending

warnings that the Sim is (I think) is connecting to the internet...

I click "allow" and nothing happens...I dismiss the message and

it reappears...I called BD technical support...they say it's a known

issue and they are working on a fix and will let me know...the

only solutions (for now) are to cut the firewall off or just let the error message

exist on the screen....bummer...

When using MSFS, turn off Bitdefender Firewall and let Windows Defender Firewall do the job instead.

I could never get the Bitdefender notification to stop popping up every few seconds whilst MS flight simming, despite hammering on the 'allow' button.

Hi there...this morning, I have started the SIM twice

with BD Firewall "on" and everything has worked

fine...

Wonder if there was some "glitch" on part on MS yesterday?

There's really no need to use 3rd party AV or firewall products anymore.  Windows Defender and Window Firewall are fine.

I found this solution on the BitDefender Community site from user zuiuz and it worked for me. Supposedly BitDefender is working on something but in the meantime instead of turning off the firewall completely:

"You can do the following. Go to Protection>Firewall>Settings. For ´´Default application behavior´´ click ´´Edit default rules´´´.  For WLAN take the setting ´´Allow´´. OK"

I must stand to correction on my second post above...

the BD Firewall was "off" not ""on"...when turned "on"

the problem reoccurred....darn...

However, Fzike's fix above seems to work...thanks Fitzke!...
