October 1, 20205 yr Any other real world 172 drivers find that the 172 unrealistically floats too much?
October 1, 20205 yr Yep, I´ve noticed the same issue, the flying is a joy but landings..... well, let´s say that the real plane would need an expensive repair 😀. Anyone has a good settings for sensitivities? Tapani Österberg
October 1, 20205 yr Try this is under flight_model from 1.9 to 2.2 ;===================== FLAPS ===================== [FLAPS.0] drag_scalar = 2.2 ////////////////////////////1.9 ; Scalar coefficient to ponderate global flap drag coef (non dimensioned) Let me know. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.
October 1, 20205 yr I'd love to do some manual tweaks, if only I could find the simobjects folder and all the default airplanes. They seem to be hidden in the MS Store version. Anyone know how to find them? I'd like to reduce sensitivity on most of the default planes arcraft.cfg. MSFS
October 1, 20205 yr Yeah it’s a little floaty and tail strikes every time if you take it all the way to a full stall landing. You have to fly it on with a little energy left in the wings to get it smooth. Chris
October 1, 20205 yr With regards to aerodynamics, IRL the 172 tends to float on landing due to "ground effect." The approach speed should be about 70 with full flaps and you should round off just above the runway and land with a full stall. You actually want to raise the nose and hear that stall horn. MSFS

I have installed my MSFS on drive D on my PC, but you have to look for the subdirectory \OneStore where all the original airplanes are located. Some of them have flight_model available to be edited some don't. I can't understand why, quite stupid. Notepad will work for the editor of that file. Now this is more complex compared to the FSX or P3D but close enough. What actually I'm looking for is to find the new option of adjusting the "aircraft gyroscopic stability" in SDK and I can't acceses it for some reason. There is no manual or documentation with this software, I can't believe this. Something is very wrong with these people at Asobo.
