October 4, 20205 yr I managed to delete my contoller settings files using the in-game menu, but I have a recent system image of all drives. Problem is I have no idea where MSFS saves the files. Does anybody know where those files are stored? I bought and installed MSFS from the Microsoft Store - installed on my E:\ drive. i7-6700k • Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 • 32GB DDR4 2666 • EVGA FTW ULTRA RTX3080 12GB
October 4, 20205 yr Moderator They're stored in the cloud. Question is, did deleting them here delete them too. I'd try a repair install - in windows - start/settings/apps Microsoft Flight SImulator - REPAIR - do not do the reset or the uninstall or you'll have to d/l 100G again. hope it works. October 4, 20205 yr Author Thanks for the quick reply Vic. Actually I think I just found them. In this thread on the MSFS forums (https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/joystick-configuration-files/284640), first post shows the folders they're stored in and I checked on my system and the files are there. The ones I deleted are gone, but the current saved files are there. The files are xml's but are named with just a bunch of alpha-numeric characters with no extensions. I ended up copying the contents from the files on my system image and replaced the contents of the active game files...AFTER I made backups of the active files. i7-6700k • Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 • 32GB DDR4 2666 • EVGA FTW ULTRA RTX3080 12GB
October 4, 20205 yr To all: I'm a bit confused about this. Would someone please explain to me: 1) What is the "Community" folder? What is the "Official" folder? Where are they located? 2) What is the content.xml file and where is that located. Thanks, Mike
