Or just select an arrival slot instead of departure and you can spawn airborne, cancel your landing intentions and wander off where ever you want.

Just remember if you have a destination and no departure the game will set you up on final configured to land so check gear flaps etc before flying off.

Though if you set arrival to a point of interest that does not happen.

*Sigh*

I must be a glutten for punishment. Tried again today to get the 747 to do something.  Started ok, then completely lost the altitude and in the middle of the night in a storm, crashed.
