Sorry folks,

again it's me 😕 As i like the GAYA scenery of Tegel, i choose this airport as destination for todays flights. Nice cloud coverage over Germany today, gave me visual astonishing approaches between huge cotton wool ball clouds and was good for tuning the settings 🙂

But neither the CJ4 nor the A320 where able to show the ILS frequencies. Ok, i have the Navigraph beta installed, cause the FS own navdata sometimes gives you 7000 ft dives between two waypoints 5 nm away from each other. So, i deactivated the Navigraph beta, checked that there is only the ILS 26L of FS own database left, but again no ILS frequency available. At last, i enabled the Navigraph beta again and checked the ILS for all runways in the FS Flightplanning map, there are listed with frequencies. So, why neither the Citation nor the Airbus can see them?

Is it a problem of the aircrafts? For the A320 i have a mod installed in the community folder, so it is quite reliable in picking up the right ILS frequency?! Or is it a problem with purchased third party scenery? A trip to EDDH in the CJ4 was without any problems, dialed in the ILS itself and gave me a nice crosswind landing 🙂

Sorry if the item is discussed elsewhere, i didn't find it. I want to invite you to check, if there is a systemic problem with ILS on third party airports or if it's just a problem you might have and others won't.

recommend you check with Gaya.. they may not have added the ILS approach frequency.   I have third party airports that DO allow iLS on them, but have no idea whether there was an ILS approach for that airport prior to the third party scenery.

I do know that a huge amount of ILS frequencies at default airports are missing though..

Thank you for the quick reply. Mh, but why are they listed on the flightplanning map? I already checked the Navigraph forum and the Gaya forum. I posted the topic here, cause the community is bigger to crosscheck several scenerys and approaches.

It could be that the default MSFS airport DOES have the ILS but the GAYA one doesn't.. OR another option.. the Gaya one is set to the wrong frequency and MSFS is therefore tuning your approach to the FS frequency and not the Gaya one.

I have played with a few airport replacements using the SDK and the comms section is quite complex and not very user friendly..   It can only pick-up what is in the replacement files and if those do not correctly update the FS airport database files..  you get an issue 🙂

If Gaya have not correctly modified the FS airport database with correct overrides it may be there in the files but not be available in the sim.

There was an update from EDDT and LOWW today, i bought both at ORBX and therefore the DL Manager gave me two updates.

But i don`t tested as jet if this is fixed, but could be possible..

If I had Tegel, I would run a test for you, but I don't I'm afraid.. maybe some nice person with the Gaya add-on might try it for you at some point.

Don't you know, you're supposed to do all your flying with a VFR sectional map, a stopwatch, and an E6B.  All these newfangled automations just make you a bad pilot.  Stop complaining and enjoy the perfection that is MSFS!

Sorry....frustration from another thread spilling over.

Best thing to do here might be to disable all community mods and see if you can pick up the ILS with a simpler aircraft to rule out oddness related to the A320.  That would give you a solid footing to contact Gaya if it doesn't work. 

Bug reports in the stock configuration are much more likely to be listened to.

 

Ok, but I don’t have to call myself „The Red Baron“, or shall I? 🙂 A real Pilot can feel with his nosetip, where the wind is coming from? 🙂 

ok, back to business...that’s the reason i did the same with the CJ4, without any mods. I wanted to test if it’s me, or the FMC, or the plane, or the scenery, or FS ... but perhaps I should really jump into something „solid“, with knobs to dial the frequency written on a paper in, and then check if the  ILS is alive or not.

Checked the Navigraph Data with a C 152 (oh dear, like back in the early 90th, man i am getting old), ILS is alive in EDDT, bars are moving as they should. Really seems to be, that the scenery / airport hide these data in a way so FS does not fill the FMC with it automatically. Dialing the frequency manually works.
