at a lost - Beechcraft A36 AP keeps crashing plane

Featured Replies

Hi,

A little lost. I have sim flown A36 a hundred times and all of a sudden all I do is crash.

AP goes on and at around 4000 it looses all speed, the trim is all wrong and it just keeps veering right and I mean veering.

Do not know if its the new patch or FSEconomy.

Anyone else having something similar happen or suggestions

Ron

Which sim?  I have not seen an A36 in MSFS 2020 yet.

OK. Glad you sorted it out.  The MSFS Bonanza is a G36.  Thought you had found a Bonanza with a dial gauge panel.

Auto Pilot is still screwy though. Cant tell if I am doing something wrong or if its the sim.

What autopilot mode are you using?

Do you have the 'auto mixture' assistance turned on, or are you using the 'best mixture' key binding or adjusting mixture via the virtual cockpit?

If you are running in manual mixture mode, the stock sim G36 needs to be leaned out above about 3,000 feet or it starts loosing power and then the AP might stall it.

I doubt it is any of that. I too have seen the G36 autopilot do this exact thing. Nothing to do with the engines or mixture - the AP just puts in full left aileron deflection and initiates a diving spin.  You have to disconnect AP to get out of it and regain control, but if you reengage AP it goes right back into the spin.  Only out of it is to quit the program and start over.  Doesn't happen every time, but there are reports of bugs with conflicts to AI or MP aircraft that may be close by.  I haven't tested enough to gauge how often this happens or if some of the published "fixes" about enabling generic traffic models work consistently.

This is exactly my experience. Playing with the mixture does absolutely nothing. Turning off the AP and flying manual seems to be the only solution.

At least I know it's not my flying or most of it anyway. :-)

Thanks

I have not yet flown the Bonanza but have had this very issue happen in both the C172 and the DA62.  Only once in each.  And yes.  Restarting the sim and flying under the same conditions  the issue did not recur.

Oh. Actually twice in the DA62.  But the first time was during my first MFS flight and I had used the now dreaded Active Pause key for a three minute pause.  Have not used Active Pause since then.

On a side note, I have been flying that stupid ugly Cessna 208 with no problems since the sim has come out.

I really really like the feel of the plane and the site line is amazing. You can see everything.

Still the ugliest plane I have ever seen.
