October 10, 20205 yr Whenever I try to pop out the PFD (modded A320), FPS goes into a slide show. I tried moving it around, reducing the size to no avail. When I close it, FPS return to normal. I'm using windowed mode. It worked before, so I'm not sure what's wrong. Any suggestions? Full screen?
December 23, 20205 yr Reviving this thread to see if anybody has any thoughts? My system isn’t fantastic but can support High settings (except max mesh) and maintain 30fps most of the time. As soon as I pop out a 530, however, I drop to 10-15fps. This seems ... extreme. Am I missing something, or will I just need to pony up fir better hardware? I was *thinking* of getting a RealSimGear setup, but definitely proceed with that plan until I can address this issue ...
December 23, 20205 yr Are you using an (external) FPS limiter? Because then the FPS will be halved when you pop out a window. Windows 11 Pro - Ryzen 3 5900X - nVidia RTX 4090 - 32GB DDR4-3600 === Microsoft Flight Simulator
December 23, 20205 yr Uuuh ... wait, what? I did happen to have NVIDIA capping at 30fps due to some other experiments showing it helped with stability. Are you telling me that if an app has multi-windows, that limiter is the sim total number of frames allowed across ALL of the app’s windows? That’s rather unexpected ...

That's how I understand it to be. Easy fix though. December 23, 20205 yr Maybe easy - if the removal of the limiter brings back my crashes, then that’s not so great. Suppose I could set the limiter to 60 or something else and see what happens. Anyway, thanks for the tip. Surprising.
