October 13, 20205 yr It is fantastic to see the knowledgeable folks developing all these new mods - thank you all. One of the things that I have not seen discussed yet seems like it could be done is runways and their skid markings and rubber build up. I have xplane, which does this well (could have been a mod though?) and I don't have P3D so on that one I don't know. Maybe this is too difficult and I have no idea what I am asking, however maybe others can chime in here and let me know what the issues could be. I do not know how this would (could) be done as I don't know anything about doing this type of thing, but I am genuinely curious. Its in the SDK, so the devs or hobbyist editors can apply that to their airports, some has done it already.

Simple, it's a brand new sim, give it a couple of months of use and there will be loads of rubber laid on the tarmac! 😁😉 AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 4.2 32 gig ram, Nvidia RTX3060 12 gig, Intel 760 SSD M2 NVMe 512 gig, M2NVMe 1Tbt (OS) M2NVMe 2Tbt (MSFS) Crucial MX500 SSD (Backup OS). October 13, 20205 yr Maybe they are just simulating airfields with good rubber removal practices 😄 As for all you would be sim airfield owners, letting too much rubber build up on your runway runs a risk of it being closed due to being too slippery when wet 😄
October 13, 20205 yr Are you asking for a dynamic build up of rubber and dirt on runways or a static depiction of rubber? Its up to the airport creator to apply decals to the runway and is really easy. As for having it build up over time. I have no idea how to go about that. Its way beyond creating scenery. -Tyler Weber

No, I was thinking only of 'static'. My thought was being able to apply these marks/build-ups on the generic runway textures that I believe are here (maybe?): ...\Official\<Steam-MS>\asobo-material-lib\MaterialLibs\Asobo_MaterialLib\Textures or here... ...\Official\<Steam-MS>\fs-base-material-lib\MaterialLibs\Base_MaterialLib\Textures Just an idea to make the global (all asphalt and concrete) runways look a bit more used, nothing dynamic, just some marks or something. I really have no idea how this could be done, I just am not knowledgeable in that area. Thanks for the feed back, appreciated.
