Aerosoft confirms autopilot logic will be their own

Featured Replies

So Aerosoft has confirmed the autopilot logic for their upcoming CRJ will be their own custom autopilot system:

Our own. Of course.

Out of curiosity, I went to the FlyByWire A320 Discord channel and asked if in the future, the FlyByWire A320 will develop their own custom autopilot.  And similar to Aerosoft, people in the FlyByWire Discord channel confirmed that they are able to create their own autopilot system, using their own custom autopilot logic as well.  I think that's good news.  It means we will eventually have very high fidelity planes in MSFS, with their own custom autopilot systems, and we won't have to worry about the typical autopilot bugs in those planes that we are seeing right now in the default MSFS planes (assuming Aerosoft and FlyByWire implement a more stable and bug free autopilot system for their planes).

So I guess all that matters is time.  Given enough time, more 3rd party planes will come out and these 3rd party planes will have their own autopilot system.  That's good news that MSFS allows 3rd parties to implement their own autopilot systems (of course, it's also reasonable to assume Asobo will fix the autopilot for the default planes as time progresses).

It'll be a nice change of pace to get killed by Aerosoft's autopilot instead of Asobo's.

Please, please let them find a better autopilot approach that doesn’t have this issue.
