The warranty on the 1TB 970 Evo+ that is my dedicated flight sim drive is good for 5 years or 600 terabytes written. 600 TB over 5 years is 120TB per year, or 10TB per month, or ~330GB per day. I would have to write more than that, every single day, to terminate my warranty early due to write cycle limits. I'm a pretty heavy duty user, but I can't think of anything I would normally do that would cause me to fill a full third of my drive fresh every day. (Not to mention that it won't necessarily expire at that point -- that's just the point where you're no longer under warranty; it could do fine long after that). Folks running enterprise databases may need to worry about write cycle limits. But normal users simply do not anymore. Edited November 14, 20205 yr by kaosfere
