Lost FlyTampa sceneries after deleting P3D files in AppData

Featured Replies

Hi,

I had a 'p3d has stopped working', followed a tutorial and deleted :

C:\Users\TONY\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4

C:\Users\TONY\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin

Unfortunately I forgot to make a backup.

The 'p3d has stopped working' is gone but my FlyTampa sceneries too.

I mean they are not recognized by P3D anymore because all my FlyTampa sceneries are still in :

E:\P3D Main\FlyTampa

My Aerosoft, FlightBeam and OrbX sceneries are still OK.

Do I need to reinstall all the FlyTampa sceneries?

You may still have an old file in there, which you can easily rename to add the scenery again. That may bring up the former problem too.

Most sceneries from Flytampa just can be added to the scenery within the simulator. If it´s bound in with the add-ons.xml then you need a tool like Lorby Addon Manager. There you can add a package, navigate to the add-on.xml in the directory of the scenery and this will add it to p3d.

Reinstalling does this too for you, but takes longer of course.

Just re-run the Flytampa universal installer. It should repair everything.

Hi both,

Many thanks for your help.

I ended up reinstalling.

Please note that running the universal installer is... actually installing. There is no 'repair' choice unless I missed it.

I meant that it would repair the installations. I didn't mean that it had a repair function. Same result either way.

I'll try to be more clear in the future.

For future reference, sceneries installed with the universal installer have a .bat file in their folder which you can run to re-add the sceneries to the library. No need to reinstall the whole scenery if the only thing needed is to add to the library.
