Hi Chris,Greeting from a little north of you in the Albemarle, NC area. I see you fly the KA 200. Can you comment on the real aircraft's flight and ground handling characteristics compared to the FSX KA350? Regards,SD

>Greeting from a little north of you in the Albemarle, NC area.Hey there! My regular first officer (Lefty Larry) has taken a couple days of vacation this week and is over in your neck of the woods (literally - Uwharrie) doing some hunting.. :) >I see you fly the KA 200. Can you comment on the real>aircraft's flight and ground handling characteristics compared>to the FSX KA350? To be honest..the KA350 is the plane in FSX that I've flown the LEAST (along with the G1000 panel Mooney..yuck!). The *only* reason I've spent so little time with it is because I'm so spoiled by the Aeroworx B200 for FS9..it is so good that it is painful to use the default King Air in FS9 or FSX. :D I wrote two articles for SimHQ on the Aeroworx B200 and how it compares to real life...the articles are interesting because they show direct side-by-side comparisons and the results are simply stunning:Aeroworx B200 Version 1: http://www.simhq.com/_air3/air_112a.htmlAeroworx B200 Version 2: http://www.simhq.com/_air4/air_157a.htmlIf you still have FS9 and are looking for a well done aircraft..these guys have hit a homerun. I'm looking forward to working with them on the FSX version...Regards..BeachAV8R

Beach,The FS9 Aeroworx King Air B200 is very famous, it's one of those spectacular products that have come out that's worth the money.I was curious though, whether you ever had the chance to try out the Fly! or Fly!2K V88 Rob Young K.A. B200, and what do you think about the comparison between them? I've flown many long hours in the Fly! V88 B200, so can identify the B200 by just the panel! K.A.'s are beautiful planes. But you don't want to hot start those engines, and ruin them.

ditto--have about 2000hrs real-world fast jet time in F-15E ($55M) and 300hrs in C-21 (Lear 35)...currently doing "time" at the Pentagon on staff...enjoy FS9/X inside and out...don't mention it to my viper bros, but would love to see Kirk Olsson's Viper migrate over to FSX soon...feel the need to pull some virtual Gs.CheersRakef-15_mk-84jdam.jpgKemo_C21-1.jpg

I'll bet those were some exciting 2000 hours! I've often been driving back and forth between Charlotte and Myrtle Beach and been buzzed by F-15Es doing low-level flights on the Military Training Routes around the eastern Carolinas. What a rush! At least after getting out of the F-15E you were able to step into one of the most "fighter-like" civilian jets out there (Lear 35).. :)Thanks for your service...Chris "BeachAV8R"

Hi Rake!Haven't heard from you in a long time. Would you believe I've only flown my sims about 15 minutes in 2 weeks or so? Have 13 or 14K flight sim hrs. I've been working on my hardware, revamped at least three computers. One of them, an old 486 which I've repaired and upgraded, I used it once to come to someone's rescue 2000 miles away.Have you gotten these C-21 hours recently? On the simulators the C-21 seems exceedingly easy to fly, however I'm cautioned by my buddy j9viper some time ago that they can easily become "lawn darts", and also a leading engineer says that in a stall situation they can be very dangerous and are known for snap flipping onto its' back. What do you think of them?"Worf" from Star Trek NG is an accomplished RW jet pilot, old fighters and biz jets. He got an old Lockheed surplus biz jet from the military, it seems nice, I like the C-21/Lear 35 better. A surplus jet would probably be a lot cheaper, but I wonder, do you think they have excessive numbers of hours on them by the time they're surplus? A surplus Gulfstream 5 would be really cool (Boeing has better construction quality) but still too expensive. This is a good time to be in the military, as we live in serious times. Wish I could do my humble part, I could fly F-22's, F-18's, I dunno, B-1's, I'm not picky! Could take a little off the sides, grimace and chomp down on a cigar (important) kick the furnature and, start at the rank of Captain Rock! Ha ha!FOR THE REST OF THE GUYS HERE: I resolved my hesitations about FSX, regarding hardware upgrading and re-activation policies at Microsoft, they say they will give unlimited re-activations for hardware enthusiasts such as myself who upgrade frequently. I now have full confidence in Microsoft and will be getting a number of copies of FSX DLX. Still have to build a computer for it though!

Not hunting in Uwharrie Point I hope. Though I do understand they had a terrible deer problem when homes were first built there. Apparently eating all that nice new expensive landscaping. As to the Aeroworx B200, no I have never owned it. I do have the B1900 from PMDG and Flight1 C441. May have to eventually consider Aeroworx since the FSX KA 350 behaves terribly on the ground and in the air.Regards,SD

Hands down enjoyed flying "mudhens"...a monkey with a whistle can fly an eagle...very stable platform...lots of instantaneous thrust to get you out most high AoA conditions (that you don't want to be in)...very easy to manage energy curve...lots of cool glass (multi-function displays), gps, moving map, global situational radar (APG-70)...LANTIRN etc...gives me FLIR at night on the HUD...plus when I left the F-15E community we were also getting checked out on flying on NVGs as well.C-21 requires lot more finesse in my view especially in the critical L/D domain (like the approach phase)...not as forgiving as let's say the citation if you get behind the curve with relatively small garret turbofans and associated spin up times...can be tricky with fuel management/CG as well...but it's a groove to fly...not too complex, lots of steam dials and little glass but a sweet x-country machine nonetheless. Most of the accidents have been pilot error (go figure). As I mentioned in another forum, and I think the dudes above me will attest, simulators are far more challenging than the real deal--and those are the multi-million dollar flight safety etc sims with full motion--For $60ish FS9/X do a super job overall, are great fun, and helpful on the IFR/procedural side of the house.Great original post by the way.Rake (just happy to be alive)
