How to fix CTD with joystick connected?

Featured Replies

How did you guys manage to fix the crash issue when loading up MSFS? Mine keeps crashing after I load up to the runway. I have a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick connected and I think that is causing the issue. I had never had MSFS crash before, and this just happened after I plugged in the joystick.

ASUS ROG Maximus Hero XII ▪︎ Intel i9-10900K ▪︎ NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE ▪︎ 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro ▪︎ Windows 10 Pro (21H1) ▪︎ Samsung 970 EVO Pro 1TB NVME SSD (OS Drive) ▪︎ Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SATA SSD ▪︎ Seagate 4TB SATA HDD ▪︎ Corsair RMx 850W PSU

If the sim freezes rather than CTD, try doing an alt-enter which gets you out of full screen mode. At this point, it should be ok. Secondly, connect the joystick first; then start the sim.

I have the same joystick with no problems, was recognized in MSFS. There was a problem with usb hubs at some point, maybe try in a different port? Also I plugged mine in and had windows recognize it before starting the sim.
