Landing Checklist not displayed

Recommended Posts

During the approach briefing I ask for flaps 20. Then the copilot sets landing vref and flaps in the FMC and it shows on the PFD.

During the approach, the copilots sets flaps 1, 5, landing gear : no problem.

Then I get this:

97Ax1.jpg

I don't recall if that is before or after flaps 20.

I read in the manual that "NOTE: A landing flap must be selected in the FMC the APPROACH PAGE or you will not be able to run the Landing Checklist."

But that is the case.

I will recheck but I don't have that problem with flaps 30.

I have tried again.

This is what I did:

Then the copilot sets the landing speed and flaps in the FMC:

It is confirmed by the PFD:

Then flaps 5, 1, gear down, flaps 20 are OK.

But after flaps 20, in my understanding, Landing checklist should be displayed on the FS2Crew window. But instead I have this:

I always use button control.

Since day 1 I have never used voice control.

I've done another flight and after flap 20 (20 being the landing configuration), I get again:

w2xG9.jpg

Instead of "Landing checklist".

Then pressing the "main buttton" has no effect.

I have to click on the "arrow down" icon on the FS2crew strip shown above to advance to "Speedbrake-Armed".

And the rest resume normally.

Tomorrow I'll do a check flight with flaps 30. As I recall flaps 30 does not create this issue.

Today I flew with a flap 30 config and I got the "landing checklist" displayed correctly.

No I am not doing single engine failures.

I use flaps 20 because I like to land at higher speed.

I'll use flaps 30 then to avoid the display issue.

No worries... but I'd like to know if anyone else can reproduce.

The 777 is a very, very mature product.  We would have heard about this one before, so I'm trying to figure out how this could have happened in your case.

Cheers,

I have the default P3D flight loaded at startup and then load a saved situation (the 777 is at the gate, with a cold and dark status loaded from the PMDG FMC). But I've never had problem doing so.

It seems to me that I read in the manual that the copilot FMC should not be used. Now I use it to display the LEGS page. But even doing so, I don't have any problem with flaps 30.

OK, I'll do some tests. If you don't hear again from me in this thread that would mean that I have discovered nothing of interest. Otherwise I'll post here.
