Major probs and fraudulent marketing of Captain Sim. B757

Featured Replies

I'm going to have to pipe in here - I feel completely ripped off after buying the 757 addon for FSX too.My quarm is that it is so slow that it is unplayable.I have a X1900XT + E6600 Conroe clocked at 3.25 gig - yes I know that dual core is not used by FSX - but that aside, in single core mode, my CPU in its overclocked state is probably almost the fastest CPU you can currently get for your PC.SO that all said, I get 5-7 fps with the Captainsim Product ! LOL - completely unplayable. So if they tested this product ? Surely you'd see that it was actual usable/flyable ? If so - WHAT SYSTEM DID THEY TEST IT ON ?Mark.

>I purchased the Captain Sim B757 in good faith that they would>provide a compatible and usable FSX patch. Hahahhahahhahahaha. :-newbie >I am sure the captain sim product fidelty is solid. Hahahhahahaha... (ahem) ... You're still joking, right?>However, the marketing and malicious manner in which Captain>Sim has advertised their product is apalling and inexusable. No way. Captain Sim? I've never heard of such a thing! Do tell.>The captain sim products and history are very good. Oh, for certain! The best history, untouched by the harsh attitudes of intransigent simmers and others who don't understand former Russian military marketing systems.>However, their fraudulent actions in marketing and quality>control of this product deem action taken on the customers part. Ah, this I cannot help you with, simply because I refuse to malign a company with such a "good" history.>If there is not immediate action taken by Captain sim I>seriously suggest we start a Class Action suite for their>actions! Will you be wanting room service with that suite?>Thank you all for your quick action! My pleasure. Carry on.

"GG" You said "I believe in making informed buying decisions, so there was no surprise on my part."Amen dude! For one.... I strongly support this individual for voicing his dispair over the FPS issue. This would majorly #### me off bad if I dumped big bucks into something that didn't perform as advertised. But with tougue in cheek, I agree with you on the "Informed buying decision" end of this. I 'at the expense of 100's of dollars", learned the hard way to assume the worst when ordering add-ons and such. After doling out money for someone elses opinion of Flight Sim Virvana, I learned that a little research, can save a lot of heartache. You are both right in your opinions. ( Of course... In MY humble opinion )TurnipSystem Specs:Motherboard = P5-GL-MXP4 3.0SB LiveATI Radeon X800 GTO (256) Overclocked to 550 Core / 525 Mem2 Gb Geil PC3200 Dual Channel RAM

Come on guys, let's be serious here. The 757 is a wonderful but, at the present time, useless aircraft. It simply should not be on the market with 5 fps. What I don't like is the refusal of Captain Sim to acknowlege that there is a problem with his plane. When other add-ons with similar complexity get double the fps, then there is something wrong with his product. All I want for myself is my money back till he gets it fixed - he refused to do so. No reason for me to take legal actions for $32, but I think he will lose more than that in negative press.Bernd

This is why refunds should be available on DL products.Obviously there are inherent difficulties with refunds on DLs, but I think the benefits outweigh the risks for the company. I bought and DL the JustFlight Lancaster for FS9. It had all the charm of a flying garbage can; low detail, blurry, lacking VC in most models, and a CPU pig to boot. At $40+, it was a complete rip off.I requested a refund, jumped through a few hoops for the company, and received excellent and friendly customer service and a full refund. I would have never bought anything off JustFlight again after the Lancaster, but now I'm more then happy to shop with them again and I'm singing their praises on the forums.Refunds or "exchanges" are part of the answer.

This is why we have people using FXS make excuses such as FPS and fluidity is an opinion and is acceptable on different levels. There is nothing wrong with the CS 757 other then FSX is a piece of crap. Don't blame CS for this as it is stated in severl places that although it can be frame rate hungry it is one of the most advanced and active models we have. If you look at he numbers it has more animations then any other aircraft.

Sorry don't agree - how angry would people be if on top-end machines a newly released game that people paid for ran at 7 fps ?They could say all sorts of things like - but look at the number of pixel shaders we use, or how many polygons we are using etc etcbut it all comes down to it that its unplayable on current hardware - just like the CS 757.Mark.

Although an FPS-hog, the CS757 was perfectly playable and enjoyable in FS9. It was simply patched to work in FSX, not rewritten from the ground up. The CS757 is unplayable in FSX because FSX itself is barely playable on current hardware. Add a complex user aircraft, and what do you expect will happen to your precious remaining FPS?Even if you take the same expected FPS drop with the CS757 in FSX that you would experience in FS9 with this aircraft, you have zero performance left. Not a big shock to me fellas....I'm just having a hard time understanding how it is to anyone else.GG
