Clouds range in EA mode ..,

Featured Replies

Even with visibility set to 80 I see this. Like EA clouds only reach 50-60 mls in front of the ac. Settings maxed out.

Flying at 33500 ft over France

This is also with the default themes at high altitude ...

I don't recall seeing this using ASP3D and EA mode. Maybe it's related to FSGRW. I think that the debug mode display in ASP3D lists the actual cloud draw distance in EA mode, but I'm not presently at my computer to check this.

As I wrote this I see also with the default themes.

Up to 20.000ft it all looks good. But when climbing higher it becomes apparent.

Damian stated they are working on supporting multi view pc’s so weather and clouds are being sync’d like with FSGRW. But with all features and settings from AS. So I will have to stay with FSGRW for now.

I am curious how others see clouds/visibility at high altitudes.

Without a multi-view setup, I have the same "chess board clouds" above FL200 (actual AS-version, P3DHF1 and EA enabled). Unfortunately...!

I will test this today and report back Gerard. I will use ASP3D AND Standard Cloud settings within EA mode.

Yesterday I don´t remember having this "issue". But to be sure I will be more alert on this.

I will post this evening.

Am I correct that you also have FSGRW ?

If so could you try first at a high altitude over France with FSGRW (slew) till you see this behavior , shut it down and startup ASP3D.

Then you should see if there is a difference.

Thanks

Yes. You are right.

with FSGRW I have short range clouds 360° around the plane visible

With ASP3D my range is much higher.

Regardless the settings within FSGRW. Set to 160 NM is my preferred setting. But it does not work for higher cloudrange anymore.
