December 11, 20205 yr I bought P3d 5 last week after taking 6 months off from P3d. To me visually, there is not much difference than what i was on with 4.5. I am hoping someone can help clear some confusion. If I bought from LM v5 last week, is it safe to assume i have 5.1 or do I need to download 5.1 again? I tried showing Enhanced Atmospherics on and off and didn't see a difference. What should I be looking for? I heard about TrueSky but I can't seem to find it... is this something I should activate in the sim or something i should download separately (free?)? I am running Active Sky with P3d V5. What is a good weather combo for this scenario? My clouds are default and it always seems as though the sky is overcast (white/haze) in the distance. In all, I am not complaining, but to me visually 5.1 seems to be worse than when I had 4.5. Performance is better, but visually it is worse for me and I can't figure out why. I suppose it could have been too high of expectations but i can't figure it out. Luckily, all of my add on airports have transported without an issue so on the ground it looks realistic. Its just while flying, it looks very bland! Hopefully people have some suggestions. December 11, 20205 yr If you bought it last week than you will have the latest version. You should definitely see a difference with EA (which uses Truesky...it is not a separate setting) with the clouds and overall lighting. Maybe set the WX to broken clouds and change back and forth....you should definitely be able to tell as the clouds will look much different. I have settled on keeping EA on as I like the lighting much better and the clouds have been much improved using HiFi AS. Maybe use a historical WX setting in Hifi where there are some clouds and do the same flight with EA on and off. Not sure about the white haze...it could have something to do with EA. I notice some haze as well but it looks very realistic to me and does not obscure the sky. I think Hifi may use the haze setting as well to blend the clouds with the horizon better (not 100% sure on this). I have accepted some of the flaws EA has for now (WX transitions and strange lighting at dusk) as the overall experience has been much better for me. December 12, 20205 yr With EA enabled I found a slightly different tint to the atmosphere in clear sky conditions . Also in low cloud conditions at an airport, I found the visibility to be different with EA on vs off.
