DC?

Featured Replies

Wasn't the usa update supposed to update the hideous DC monument, white house etc? I got nothing on my end. Still the same weird black checkered monument with no top and no capitol building or white house. Makes me think maybe nothing else got updated for me either when that new usa pack came down.

Turn photogrammetry on...

You may need to download it from the content manager. I did the update and then had to actually go in, select it, and click "update" or "download" or whatever. Really annoying.

You need to go into the Marketplace and 'Buy and Download' the free USA World Update content, which has the POIs in it.

DC doesn't have photogrammetry, that won't work.

You need to download the USA world update from the marketplace.

Yeah that did it. Those geniuses make you do all of this and don't even tell you that you need to do it to get any of the updated scenery. Sheesh. Thanks mate.

Actually, they do tell you. From the release notes for Update 1.11.6.0:

After you download the update, please go to the Marketplace if you’d like to download the US Update (approx. 4 GiB).

Personally, I much prefer the way things are being handled now with regards to downloads. As you may have noticed, new installs only get the base files and two airplanes. All the rest of the stuff (hand crafted airports, airplanes, enhanced scenery, tutorials, challenges, etc) have to be selected and downloaded from the Content Manager or the Marketplace

This is a good thing.

It gives the end user much more choice on how much disk space they wish to devote to the sim, or how much bandwidth they wish to use. To get what they actually want. I have yet to download the Japan update as I have no intention of flying there in the foreseeable future. Should I decide to do some flying there, I'll download it then.

For those that just want everything as soon as it is available, after any update go to the Content Manager, tick the box at the top left that selects everything and then select download. Even if everything is selected, it will only download what you do not already have, or that has an update not included in the main update. For the stuff that is in the Marketplace, there is a filter to only show the "Free" stuff. Select that and then "Buy and Download" what you do not already "Own".

Of course, to each there own.

Meh. I don't like it. It's buried in some release notes instead of front and center on the main fs2020 screen where it should be after an update.

The release notes were on the update screen.

They should get all the airplanes for their version of the game.

The last time I reinstalled I got everything.

I wonder why we do not always read even the most simple or obvious release notes, instructions or manuals. I include myself and still don't know the answer.
