WT CJ4 and FBW A32X

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I was curious about which of these aircraft is the more complete from a simulation point of view. I know they're both considered good, but is one considered the superior similation to the other?

I'd say both are on pair. Two different aircraft and systems.

Both teams aim for an almost complete remake of the aircraft from the flight dynamics to the systems. They both started with the FMC component and also some aspects of flight control in the NEO and turbine modelling in the CJ4.

Both are adding AMAZING features and detail to the original models that came with MFS, and rising their free! offer to the level of the highest grade commercial offers for other platforms ( P3D / XP ), also creating a really new and welcomed reference for quality we should expect from any payware IMO.

I am looking forward into the AEROSOFT CRJ. I had an excellent experience flying in the CRJ between Lisbon and Tenerife befre the CPOVID, last year. It's a great commuter !!!

They’re both incredible and getting better all the time.  Both are well worth some time.

With respect to both development teams who are giving us all this for free...the WT CJ4 is now a few miles ahead of the A32X .

WT have a done a lot of "core" development lately which means to date they are the only addon that provides complete VNAV/LNAV functionality like we would  expect from a complex jet which they have done by implementing their own flight plan manager.

FBW group are doing the same but they are not there yet.

To be fair, the A320 is a significantly more complex airplane than the CJ4, which includes dealing with a fly-by-wire and autothrottle system.  They are both outstanding mods in their own right, but I wouldn’t say one is above the other just because one has VNAV currently. The FBW changelog for version 0.5 alone is 165 lines long!

The question was which one is more complete from a simulation point of view...and at the moment the CJ4 is closest. That isn't to say the FBW won't get there it's just a answer to the current state of affairs.
