Discover the Chilean Andes - fast

Featured Replies

We will fly over the southern part of the Chilean Andes - with some visits in Argentina!

This a very green flight, I recycled a Sunday flight from last year. A landing was added and the destination changed from Balmaceda to Cochrane!

We depart from El Tepual International (SCTE) and head east, passing two volcanoes, the Osorno and the Calbuco before we land at De Bariloche (SASZ), Argentina. From now on we head south and follow valleys as best as we can. Landings are planned at El Bolson (SAVB), Esquel (SAVE), both in Argentina. We return to Chile and stay there for the remainder of the flights. We land at Futaleufu (SCFT), Alto Palena (SCAP), Puyuhuapi (SCPH), Cabo Juan Ramon (SCAS), Teniente Vidal (SCCY), and Balmaceda (SCBA). Destination is Cochrane (SCHR).

The flight has 690 miles and 9 landings. The flight plans are here.

The scenery is ORBX Global and/or ORBX Open Landclas South America. I found two freeware scenery addons, El Tepual and Teniente Vidal, both are available here.

On the same page you will find other well made South American Sceneries. The download for El Tepual also includes the Osorno Volcano.

We need to be fast, at least 250 knots cruise speed. That allows for a wide variety of airplanes, from Ant's T28 Trojan to the F1 Mustang or any subsonic jet. If I can get it to work I will be in the SimWorksStudios T-37 Tweet, alternatively in the F1 Mustang.

This looks to be great fun. Thanks Gunter.
(FSX-P3D pilots might look at their email for a note on an all-in-one scenery package.)

And MSFS, Just sayin'

Do you think Brits would be welcome in Argentina?

Won't make it into Chilean airspace this Saturday but want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and let you know that You guys are the best flight crew in the whole  W I D E   world!  (tear).

All the best as we move forward from one messed up covid year to the next! lol. (But still we are blessed and also very fortunate that we still have international simulated airspace in which we can all fly together and see the world!.)

Stop it Norm, you're cracking me up. 🤮
