So no system made today can run FSX well

In a big city scenery, like around KSEA? Those shots didn't show any terrain or complex scenery. I can also get decent frames away from big cities. That's not enough for me.PatThose shots were made in AMD A64 4000+ @ 2.6GHz, Zalman7700Cu cooler, Corsair XMS 1GB DDR, LTK6800GT-OC, Asus A8V MoBo, WDRaptorHDD, TrackIR4, CH FSYoke+TQ+peds, Eclipse RED KB, XP-hsp2

I think there are a number of simmers out there who can do what this fellow has done: his sliders are what mine are, basically, and with mine clocked to 3.0 gig I get between 24 and 45 fps consistently everywhere.. Point is though - that we shouldn't have to work our backsides off tweaking, and spend money on hardware like there's no tomorrow - to get a sim which fixes the well-known shortcomings of FS9. THIS is what we wanted! MS, however, have completely re-done the darned thing and made it moderately unuseable for the majority of hardcore simmers and at the same time changed the core technology such that the developer group are hamstrung because the sdk's don't permit sufficient flexibility to make decent airports replicas. How does a new guy get into the hobby? How does a sixteen-year-old kid tell his folks he needs a top-of-the-line computer TO PLAY A GAME!!!! "there is some hope" you say??? "How many folks is it putting out of the hobby" is a better comment. How many developers will be giving up?? How's about the happy people who will be getting it for their Christmas present?? Oh, Joy! Gimme a break.

Did you read he did not tweaks 2nd his machine will be main stream in about a year from now, his cpu speed and graphics card power wise.I guess there is never hope for the hopeless. I just thought this might cheer a few of the reasonable posters up who can see beyound today. Funny how some of you are claiming to get 25 to 45 FPS every where yet FSX is a dog. You need to cheer up some. I mean 25 to 45 FPS every where. And thats bad to you.

Can someone please tell me the point of this post? There have all ready been hundreds like it. If you like FSX thats fine and if you don't thats fine. I think we have all seen enough of that. This post serves no purpose except to start another I hate/I love FSX rant and then the inevitable mudslinging. My point? Let it go. This thread will end up getting locked and sooner or later someone will no longer have access to AVSIM. It's really not worth it.

So hes got high FPS, what he also got is blurries. Im not impressed at all.

Hi I just posted it not to really stir up anything I thought it intresting that A computer made today was seeminly handling FSX pretty well maxed out. I have no ideal why so many post have to go into mudslinging mode but it is silly that you can't post anything postive without it happing. I just thought it might be of intrest to others. I myself like to see others get new toys and have them proform on the game or app they want. They was no evil intend on my part if this board has really boiled down to where you can't post anything good or postive without it being a threat to some then what is going on? I did state that his state of the art computer would be main stream as far as power wise with in a year to year and a half and why this made me happy.:-jumpy

No really a knock of FS10, just that this 'test case' doesn't support the thesis that FS10 will run good on tomorrow's HW. Maybe the forthcoming patch will change that. And FS10 is pretty good on my box if away from the cities and flying the GA-types, after the bloated autogen textures were scaled down. But aside from the blurries, not a cloud in the sky.... Not a realistic use scenario, if you ask me.PatAMD A64 4000+ @ 2.6GHz, Zalman7700Cu cooler, Corsair XMS 1GB DDR, LTK6800GT-OC, Asus A8V MoBo, WDRaptorHDD, TrackIR4, CH FSYoke+TQ+peds, Eclipse RED KB, XP-hsp2

Lastly everything is not maxed out on the scenery page. I still don't think there is a puter today that can run FSX at 20 FPS with everyting maxed out. No problem in a year or so there will be.

Well to be honest some of the settings in FSX are usless with out addons. Like the mesh or terrian only go down so far out of the box so in a sense he does have FSX pretty well maxed out out of the box untill payware takes the textures down and the mesh down I think past 1mm terrian and 19mm for mesh. I maybe wrong not sure.I'm still going look on the bright side like I said with what he is running now will be the speed of a cpu and graphics card for the main stream user in a little over a year.

If I read another " FSX was programmed for computers 2-3 years in the future" explanation or excuse Im going to PUKE.:~P

HA! I get that performance with a machine half the cost no big deal. Go to the cities, have traffic on screen, 3D clouds, turn bulding shadows on, turn light bloom on and then we'll talk. On that machine he has every other game in the market will give 200+ fps without stutters on full settings-thats the point! I dont know, ACES themsleves have admitted the performance issue and are trying to rectify it and here we still have remnants of a really excited user!
