If you don't go to that forum and don't live near the UK you may not realize a 'mega strom' is hitting the UK today.  Will be some interesting virtual flying in that region. Somebody posted they got 60 MPH winds on Sunday night.

It was like that the other day in Blighty too. I had the door of my truck get caught by the wind on the 23rd and it yanked the thing right open when I'd only just cracked it open an inch, and those doors don't open easy on that truck. Fortunately I had checked in the mirror to make sure there was nothing coming past me at the time.

The following day - Christmas Eve - it was -3 degrees in the morning and my car felt like an icebox when I got into it; it's all very nice having a wooden and leather steering wheel most of the time, but when it is cold, those things are not fun in posh cars. 🤣 It made me miss my old mark 1 Mazda MX5, which in spite of being a ragtop, had a brilliant heater in it which made it lovely to drive in winter.

Major snow storm building into the US for Wed-Fri and will cover much of the US, even all the way down to Texas. The western parts of central Texas, with Abilene and west being the bullseye for Texas (a rare 6+ inches to even over a foot possible in Texas). Likely many many feet of snow in the CO & NM mountains.

Will be interesting to see how accurate the sim gets the snow in Texas.

Lol yes I need to hear Frankie with a nice Scottish accent, that would be awesome!

I flew EDDK-LSZH yesterday and the altimeter at takeoff was 29.03!  Almost made it down to the 28’s...
