December 28, 20205 yr Hi, I know I know, there is the FBW Airbus mod which is excellent but just wanted to know if something is wrong with stock Airbus regarding climb, in managed mode the plane really feels underpowered above FL200, a couple of updates ago the plane used to climb faster. Thanks, Alexander Colka
December 28, 20205 yr Funny you mention this, but I did a full flight today in the default A320 and noticed exactly the same. It took me half an hour to get up to FL330. I just assumed I'd got my weights wrong but it did seem very sluggish to climb. December 28, 20205 yr Author The stock Airbus likes to climb at 320 kias in managed mode, it seems that the cost index parameter has no effect in this model (but I could be mistaken). Alexander Colka
December 28, 20205 yr Just because I wanted to try: I did a climb to FL 380 with the FBW mod at a weight of 140.000 lbs at takeoff. Climb speed above FL 100 was 300 knots, above FL 300 Mach 0.74. Time from FL 100 to FL 380 was 16 minutes. I have no clue if this is normal or not, but maybe you can compare with what you get with the unmodded A320. The speeds of 300 knots and a max Mach of 0.74 I got from the Airbus website.
December 28, 20205 yr Author I think your description of the performance of the FBW Airbus seems credible to me compared to stock Airbus, at least I remember some numbers like yours, I definitely think something happened to stock Airbus regarding climb performance with latest updates.
