December 28, 20205 yr Hi folks, nice to meet you! I've just bought the premium MS Flight Sim 2020, and it's absolutely amazing! But, the one thing I wanted to do was create a real simulator from it, so what I need to do is have a view outside of the cockpit, that doesn't display the plane. In other words, I want to project the scenery onto the screen but not be able to see the plane itself, as in a simulator this doesn't make sense. I did do some searching of the forum, but I couldn't find any answers. Thanks in advance!! Chris.
December 28, 20205 yr I thought I saw someone mention that a cockpit-less option had been added to the latest Sim Update II, but I'm not sure where it would be located, and I haven't tried it myself. Maybe check through the key bindings and camera menus. AMD 3950X | 64GB RAM | AMD 5700XT | CH Fighterstick / Pro Throttle / Pro Pedals
December 28, 20205 yr Author Hi again, thank you all for taking the trouble to help! It looks as though the workaround linked by RKSoftware to the YouTube video is exactly what I wanted, so I will give that a go - many thanks for that! Still amazed at the quality of this simulator, and now I'll be able to set it up on my projector, I can't wait to give that a try! Thanks again!!
December 28, 20205 yr Welcome Sharpy! It's an interesting project. Let us know how you get on! Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. The recent Sim Update indeed added a Home Cockpit Mode (under Settings/Camera) which, according to the short description, is supposed to do what the OP (and several others) wants. Unfortunately it doesn't work properly, it centers view in the Virtual Cockpit but doesn't remove rendering of the Virtual Cockpit. I already placed a Zendesk ticket on the case. I have been using the method (let's say workaround) given by rksoftware's 2nd video for several planes as an interim solution for some time now.
