I think ORBX decided to not advertise P3Dv5 compatibility because the developer that created it for them isn't going to update it further.  That said, KTEX (along with other scenery not advertised as compatible) is easily modded for full P3Dv5 compatiliblity.

I copied the AA_KTEX folder from my P3Dv4 installation into my P3Dv5 ORBX Library folder and it was automatically added to my v5 scenery library the next time I started the Lorby-SI P3D Addon Manager.  I edited the APX file with ADE by opening the bgl, loading the stock taxi sign and scenery object data, and then mass deleting all the stock objects I imported (identified by "IsStock" attribute equal to "True" in the ADE scenery object and taxi sign lists).  That creates excludes for those objects in the ADE.  I replaced the ORBX APX file with my modded ADE file, and KTEX now looks and works great in P3Dv5.
