Air Hauler 2 recommended for MSFS 2020?

Alan or anyone:  can I use a real airline company as my own, for example United?  I've become impatient for FSCaptain to arrive for MSFS and it's still a ways off so even though the company focus in AH2 doesn't appeal to me at the moment I would still consider AH2.

Thanks!

Noel

From what it seems, you can name your company whatever you wish as it stays associated with your PC. Go for it.. I have it for both XP & MSFS and run them both daily and pick up flights daily for each..

Thanks for that.  One other question if you will.  I don't want to work my way up I just want to start with the B78X HD and perhaps Citation L and continue on from there, fully ready to start doing flights right away.  Would that be possible?

Noel, it has five (I think) different starting places when creating your new company. It also allows you to SELL the original aircraft that comes with that specific package. Kewl feature, allows you to put some cash back before you get going plus pick a relevant aircraft. One thing though, I just do cargo flying so I am Low & Slow not a Nose Bleeder in the atmosphere.. 😉 I haven't done the Tuby's.. I have done some PAX trips though and they take a bit more planning than just picking up and directing Cargo flights. I think you will find it quite interesting however you wish to handle it.. Good Luck and Have Fun works really well with MSFS.

Stumped:  I'm trying to do an Ad Hoc flght from KDEN to KLAS, and ticket prices are fixed (sliders don't slide) and there are NO ticket sales.   Any ideas why no ticket sales?  I'm following the help file but says nothing about why no ticket sales.  Any clues?

I got it--had to set seating up in Aircraft Management or something like that.

Sorry Noel, charging PC. One thing about AdHoc PAX missions. (at least for GA Vehicles anyway) be sure to fluctuate the pricing to get maximum returns. Move cost up till it reduces passengers then back it down to the point they come back. Also, some times you may find it more lucrative to just have Econo PAX rather than 1 Biz & ++ Econo, so check pricing for all passengers flying. Also, be sure to allow enough time on TO Time to load PAX and start engines. I rarely do PAX since Cargo brings in the bucks for GA aircraft.

Thanks again Pivot.

I wonder how open the Dev would be on some enhancements to help move the product into something a bit more focused on 'piloting' per se.  The Flight Monitoring component would benefit from adding several other aspects, for example:

  • Did the pilot turning on landing lights before entering the runway at TO, and did they turn off LL at 10K feet, and on again when below 10K feet?
  • Did the pilot change barometric pressure to 29.92 at the correct transition altitude for this geographical region?
  • Did the pilot start the cabin service (it was a selection in the route setup) by a certain altitude?
  • Did the plane land at the projected arrival time (or within X minutes)--not sure how this works already
  • More cabin announcements by the crew would be great.
  • Seatbelt sign on prior to pushback
  • Seatbelt sign off when conditions permit--non turbulent, non descent, etc

I'd also love to see something on the screen, not behind MSFS, a panel or sorts the could be kept in view.  Is that possible?

I know this app is very dedicated to the airline company per se but I'd love to see a little more for the pilot and flying--and that from being spoiled by FSCaptain!  I loved that app but they're not ready to release much of anything yet, hopefully sometime!

Cheers

Looks like you are getting into it Noel. May want to log into their Forum at Just Flight/AH2 and make the suggestions. The main developer is a fellow named Slopey on the forums. He seems to make all the decisions as to where they take it. He may like those items you brought up to. 😎👍

He didn't-oh well I tried.  It's really not for me so far.  I much prefer a focus on flying and piloting and enhancing flights w/ cabin announcements, cabin service, rating each flight according to how well certain requirements are met.   It's unfortunate Slopey wasn;'t mor open to it as he already does have the flight monitor feature so it's mostly a case of developing that more, plus yes a few other things besides his one preflight safety message.  I feel AH2 is primarily a glorified spreadsheet, but knew it wasn't a certainty when I bought it so no worries there and I don't mind subsidizing people who support our hobby.

Well sorry to hear that, I know he has his hands full working on it much less for three different sims. Don't feel too bad either, he balked at my recommendations to. I don't know of any that actually grade you on the things you make note of. Have you looked at The Skypark (payware) or NEOFly (freeware). Don't think they get that far into judging your processes but worth looking at. I actually have all three. Enjoy sir.

Well, if any of that appeals to you keep an eye out for FSCaptain.  You create an airline company, decide salaries for different levels of skill as you develop,  Over time as you have higher and higher flight scores your rank goes up and you earn more pay as a pilot.  It offers integration w/ Ground Services X from FSDreamTeam and really enhances your actual flying.   It utilizes an FMC-like interface you interact w/ during flights and at the end a wrap up appears showing how you did and so forth.  Some nice cabin announcements appropriate to the situation. I looked at the others you mention and actually AH2 at least has a little of those elements in evaluating your flights, but it's pretty rudimentary.   I was told by Slopey I can return AH2 if I bought from JF which I did.  I'll keep it a couple more days and decide.  One major annoyance is I can't fly from anywhere I have to leave from where the plane was last left, so that kills flexibility and that is not an issue in FSCaptain.  Anyway thanks again for your input.
