This needs to be specified in Addon Linker's Menu -> Tools -> Options -> Advanced. Two folder paths (Onestore and your custom folder) needs to be inserted there. Then it will work. I have it for over a year now with my Marketplace scenery's and everything is kept up-to-date by the install manager. Think I have it. Select everything in the Official folder in Add-Ons Linker, then deselect the airports of the countries you won't be flying in? Other than that, I'm not understanding how to make just the links of the airport I need appear in the Official folder. (I have my airports broken down by region/country in AOL, which might be a stumbling block in using this format.)
May 18, 20224 yr It seems it isn't possible for airports, per the developer of Add-Ons Linker. Only marketplace items.
May 18, 20224 yr yep this thread was about marketplace addons and addons linker can manage marketplace addons via the options explained in previous messages. Unfortunately, if you move 'base content airports' (for example 'asobo-airport-xxxxx' or 'microsoft-airport-xxxx' folders) you will be stuck at the start with the sim wanting to redownload the missing the content. 🍺
May 18, 20224 yr Hmm interesting, It's been awhile but recall I did it then with all Asobo/Microsoft airports and content manager only said 'Installed' with a link present and 'Not installed' without a link, no issues with starting the sim or install manager for that matter. I still have default LOWI not installed because of a conflict with the Orbx one.
May 18, 20224 yr i think if it's not installed it's not a problem, but if it's installed and the link not active in the 'official/onestore' folder then i think it will force you to redownload if it's an 'asobo/ms airport' and you can't bypass that (would be ok with marketplace addons even if the link is not active). That's the small test i did this evening but i might be wrong, more testing is probably needed.

The AOL dev believes it will work, he just doesn't want to make it an official option in case people don't know what they're doing (like me).

May this old thread now rest in peace. 🙏

Anyway copying the official folder in your custom folder and then uninstalling the official addon is certainly not something i would recommend to most users because i don't want them to run into issues by doing things not really supported by MS/Asobo, but yeah, if you have a good knowledge of how things work (and are courageous 😁) i would say that it should probably work. 🤞 Edited May 18, 20224 yr by Bad_T
