Runways on final !!!

Featured Replies

This seems to be random for some reason, so I need to know if anyone else is noticing this.I have an ATI x800 XL so perhaps its an ATI thing, im running the new cats as well.On final, randomly, every now and again I will notice that when I am about 50 feet or so up, about to touch down, the runway, and taxiways starts flickering with white jagged tears in them, ONLY the runway and taxiway textures (paved textures) nothing else. And once again, this is random, and seems to be most often in the evening lighting or time of day. I dont know what to do, I have changed drivers, and even reinstalled the game, nothing seems to do it. I dont lose frames or anythings, its just ugly, and when I touchdown, the textures are fine.silly stuff...Danon - -

A little more information would be helpful. What addons have you used? Are these problems happening at default airports?Have you done any texture tweaks?Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180

default install, no texture tweaks, no addons, happening at default airports.I have noticed it only happens in the evening, close to dark - or early morning. I have also noticed that it happens randomly. Im not sure what the deal is. No artifacts during benchmarks, nothing is overclocked, and all of my other software runs fine - the card is good. Have switched drivers as well, to no avail.danon - -

This just happend yesterday on an approach to RJAA, i am using an add-on (FS2002) for RJAA by Kazuhiro Miyazaki and with a fs9 afcad. I also have GE Pro installed. Also I have ATI (X 800XT).Can anyone at least speculate in why these flickers appears.Kind regartds/Mattias

I have exactly the same problem - and yes I have an X800 card. If anyone with an NVidia card has ever encountered this I'd like to know, so that we can determine whether it is in fact unique to the card or something else.James

I have seen large areas, blocks, flashing for a second or so.Airports, runways from a distance flickering white but not up close. Not a all the time thing but on occasion.FX-62 7900GTX 4 gigs dr2,Raptor 150. all Oced, tweakedThere are so many variables, tweaks, options, sliders, bios settings, drivers ect that I have given up finding the cause.

FX-57 2-7800GTX in SLI running the 91.47's and I have not experienced your problem.Bob

Flip some features on/off and see if that helps.Sounds like a hardware thing. Got 6600GT/256 here and i dont have that problem at all, have 571 landings and i have never seen any of that.My only problem is that some times the airplane fall through the runway and into the ground(!) when i land:

I figure it has to be an ATI thing. I love this card, so I can live with it since this is not the only software I use. I have tried 3 different drivers, and multiple slider options, and even reinstalled....still does it every now and then. Well, in a way it is comforting to know its not just me. Gives me the ability to just ignore it, and hope that in a later driver release it will be fixed. Thanks for all the input...if anyone finds a solution, let me know please. Have a great week!danon - -

Check your settings in the Catalyst Control Center under 3D.Remove the tickmarks "Let the application decide" in stuff like Anti-Aliasing, Adaptive Anti-Aliasing, Anisotropic Filtering. Did the trick for me (using an X800XL here). These settings are "on" by default.

Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base & hegykc MFG Crosswind modded pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S for VR

All of those settings are already on my preference, so it is not that either. I have seen card specific corruption in some other games in the past, so I know it is most likely somewhat of an ATI thing. Im not sure, but like I said, im not the only one, so not too worried about it. Thanks though.danon - -

Just to let you know, I have a X800GTO, and I had this issue with the demo version. Not sure why, but I haven't seen it since installing the RTM version.
