November 30, 200619 yr Has anyone here made a profile for FSX and TrackIR 4 Pro that has CH Yoke keys programmed in? If so, I would like to see the XML profile file to try and figure out a problem I'm having.Thanks. Thank you. December 1, 200619 yr Hmm, not sure what you're asking? If you want to program a CH Yoke button to do something like "Center" or "Pause" TIR4, just plug in your yoke, fire up TIR4 software, open the profile you want to modify, edit it, select the function you want to program a yoke button for, then press the yoke button you want assigned to that function. Worked like a champ for me!If that's NOT what you're asking then more details on the problem in question would be helpful...BTW, you'll find TONS of TIR4 help at:forum.naturalpoint.com

Your using your mouse to operate your aircraft switches so, why not assign 'Mouse 3' (Pressing down your mouse wheel) for the pause? That's my 'pause' with TrackIR and find it's most convenient. December 1, 200619 yr Author My problem is that the software is not writing changes to the profile. I'm trying to see how buttons from the yoke are recorded in the profile so I can manually edit the XML.Vincent at NaturalPoint has forwarded my problem to their development team, but in the meantime, if I can get an idea of how the CH codes are written, I can make a workaround. December 1, 200619 yr Author Read the second post up. I don't want to use the mouse. I want these functions on my yoke which would be more convenient for me with my setup. Thanks for your ideas though. Thank you. December 1, 200619 yr OK, understood. Don't know why it's not working for you but I'm sure the devs will get an answer. Here is the code from my .xml relating to the hotkeys: My setup is:Pause = keyboard "x"Center = CH Yoke Button 2Precision = keyboard F7The Key Type="0" line is the entry for CH Yoke's Button 2 which centers TIR4. "virtualKeyCode" specifies the button, obviously NP uses base-zero numbering, with button 1 being "0", button 2 being "1" and so on. I'm assuming the Device ID string would be the same for any CH Yoke but I don't know. May be different for your yoke?[Edit] You'll need to experiment to find what Key Type="1" and Key Type="2" do, but I think "1" is Pause and "2" is Precision. Not sure though.Hope this helps!DH
December 1, 200619 yr G7USL, I can think of one VERY good reason to have pause on the yoke ;) The current TIR beta for FSX has a BAD problem for a lot of people where it "locks" looking straight down at the floor if you tilt your real head too far down to one side or the other. Then you have to recenter, which is a pain! That is a problem for me, as my keyboard is by my left hip on a low table when I fly, and I have to lean over to see which key to hit. Result: every time I use the keyboard I have to recenter TIR4! So it is convenient for me to have "pause" on the yoke, I just hit yoke button to pause, press whatever I need on the keyboard, then hit it again to unpause. No recentering or "staring at the floor" involved. And no reaching for the mouse 1st ;)I also have "pause" on my mouse - actually, "x" is the key I've assigned for pausing TIR4 and I programmed my Logi G5 to send "x" with the thumb button when in FSX, and used fsuipc to program "x" on the yoke button I want. Best of both worlds ;)DH
December 1, 200619 yr Author You're thinking like me. My keyboard is to my left, and as you, when looking at to do something I have to re-center.No problem now ,however, I've solved the problem. I was able to get the default profile to accept my changes then I copied it and renamed it as the flight profile. Now all works fine. Thanks to all that offered suggestions. Thank you. December 1, 200619 yr Glad you got it working, that "staring at the floor" if you move your head too far is annoying! 4.1.028 NEVER did that to me in FS9. Hopefully NP will get the matter fixed for the 4.1.030. I see they've released 4.1.029 Beta4 as 4.1.029 Final with no changes, as of Nov 30. And beta4 made no difference in the problem for me :(DH
December 1, 200619 yr Author If I move my head too far, I don't end up staring at the floor but the movement stops and locks on whatever I'm looking at at the time.I'm using Beta 4 and so far it seems ok except the little file problem I had. All's well now in FS land.Thanks. Thank you.
